Shown here is a 13.5" x 19.5" Iranian poster designed by Ahang to promote the 1969 Abbas Shabaviz 113-minute black-and-white film The Prostitute [روسپی ruspi] starring Reza Beyk Imanverdi based on a screenplay by Abbas Shabaviz with cinematography by Ghodratallah Ehsani. The film was produced by the Misaghye Studio. Plot summary: Shahin, a wealthy cabaret owner [Reza Beyk Imanverdi], discovered Atash [Azar Shiva], a Gypsy girl who was beautiful and had a good singing voice. Shahin brought Atash out of her rude and uncultivated ways to fame and respectability; in so doing he also fell in love with her. However Atash feil in love with Afshin, the music teacher Shahin had hired for her; thus the wealthy cabaret owner and a poor musician became rivals in love. Finally after a series of incidents Shahin made his own arrangemsnts for Atash to marry Afshin.
