Pictured is a 27.5" x 19.5" inch Iranian poster designed by Davallu to promote the 1964 124-minute Saber Rahbar black-and-white film Village Songs [taraneh'ha-ye rustai] starring Fardin based on a screenplay by Azizolah Bahadore with cinematography by Saber Rahbar. The film was produced by Film Caravan. Plot summary: The privileged village master obtained his daily needs with the help of his superintendent by getting direct tributes paid to him by the villagers. He encouraged his daughter Monira to propose a friendship with Farrokh. Farrokh damaged Monira's reputation by giving her a sedative, then fled to the city. When the girl became pregnant she told her mother about it and went to the city with the superintendent. With lamentations she pleaded with Farrokh to save her reputation, but Farrokh drove the girl away. Monira was planning to kill herself, but Morad saved her. Morad, who lived with his sister Narges and his aunt Kolsum, told Monira he was interested in her. Monira went to Europe with her mother so she could have her child without the people in the village seeing it it. Monira and her mother returned from Europe with a small child and Farzan, the master's nephew. Farzan told Monira he was interested in her but she shunned him. The master died of a heart attack and after Monira revealed she had a baby, she married Morad.
