This is a US 27" x 41" one-sheet poster made to promote the 1968 Luchino Visconti film The Stranger starring Marcello Mastroianni as Arthur Mersault based on the 1942 Nobel Prize-winning novel L'Etranger by Albert Camus. Plot summary: Arthur Mersault, a French man who has lived in Algiers all his life, is arrested for the murder of an Algerian who has been killed on a beach. A witness against him was at his mother's funeral and believes his failure to show emotion there suggests he murdered the man on the beach.
