Satyricon (1969) - (dir: Federico Fellini) Argentine one-sheet

This is a 29" x 43" Argentine one-sheet poster for the 1969 Federico Fellini film Satyricon based losely on a series of bawdy and satirical episodes from a book attributed to Gaius Petronius Arbiter written in the first century with story and screenplay by Federico Fellini, Bernardino Zapponi and Brunello Rondi and starring Martin Potter as Encolpio. Plot summary: When Encolpio's lover Gitone [Max Born] is sold to the actor Vernacchio [Fanfulla] by Ascilto [Hiram Keller], Encolpio abducts Gitone in an act of reclamation while Gitone is onstage performing with Vernacchio. After Encolpio and Gitone leave together, Ascilto follows them and persuades Gitone to come back with him. This is the first in the long series of fragmentary vignettes that comprise the film after the fashion of Petronius's book, which also survives only in fragments.
