Missing (1982) - (Jack Lemmon) US one-sheet

This is a 27" x 41" US one-sheet poster for the 1982 Costa-Gavras film Missing based on the 1978 Thomas Hauser book The Execution of Charles Horman: An American Sacrifice with screenplay by Costa-Gavras and Donald Stewart and starring Jack Lemmon as Edmund Horman. Plot summary: The story is based on actual events during the 1973 military coup d'etat in Chile ousting President Salvador Allende when journalist Charles Horman [John Shea] was killed, and afterwards when Charles's Father Edmund Horman goes to Chile with his son's wife Beth [Sissy Spacek] to look for his missing son. This film was banned in Chile during Augusto Pinochet's dictatorship and both the film and Thomas Hauser's book were the subject of a defamation of character lawsuit by former US Ambassador Nathaniel Davis; the lawsuit did not succeed, leading to the film's rerelease in 2006. The film won an academy award for best writing of a screenplay based on another medium. It also won the Palm d'Or at the 1982 Cannes Film Festival, and Jack Lemmon won the prize there for best actor.
