Repulsion (1965) - (Roman Polanski) Italian Locandina

This is a 13" x 26" Italian locandina using art by Enzo Nistri for the 1965 Roman Polanski film Repulsion based on a screenplay by Roman Polanski and Gerard Brach and starring Catherine Deneuve as Carole Ledoux. Plot summary: Carol Ledoux is a quietly preoccupied Belgian manicurist living with her older sister Helen [Yvonne Furneaux] in Kensington, London. When Helen leaves Carol by herself in the apartment and goes on a two-week vacation, a very unhappy Carol locks herself in and becomes disoriented, hallucinatory and homicidal. The theme is that for Carol, lovely as she is, human sexuality is repulsive. This was Polanski's first English language film and also the first of three Polanski films known as the "Apartment Trilogy," followed by Rosemary's Baby and The Tenant.

Cast and crew: Roman Polanski, Enzo Nistri, Gerard Brach, David Stone, Catherine Deneuve, Ian Hendry, John Fraser, Yvonne Furneaux, Patrick Wymark, Renee Houston, Valerie Taylor, James Villiers, Helen Fraser, Hugh Futcher, Monica Merlin, Imogen Graham, Mike Pratt
