The Silence (1963) - (dir: Ingmar Bergman) Turkish one-sheet

This is a 26.5" x 39" Turkish poster for the 1963 Ingmar Bergman 96-minute black-and-white film The Silence AKA Trystnaden written by Ingmar Bergman and starring Ingrid Thulin as Ester. This film is an important breakthrough historically for Bergman and is also seen as the third part of what is known as his Spiritual Trilogy. Plot summary: Two sisters and a ten-year-old boy named Johan [Jorgen Lindstrom] are returning home through a fictitious Central European country on the brink of war. The sisters do not understand each other or communicate well. Ester is ill and trying to work as a translator, while Johan's mother Anna [Gunnel Lindblom] is more interested in exploring and meeting people, especially men. Johan looks for other amusements, such as playful encounters with a group of Spanish dwarves residing at their hotel in a town called Timoka.
