Sherman and starring Johnny Whitaker as Tom Sawyer. Plot summary: This is a musical interpretation of the adventures of Tom Sawyer and his pal Huckleberry Finn [Jeff East] as they run away down the Mississippi River because they are tired of wearing shoes and Tom has despaired of being acceptable to Becky Thatcher [Jodie Foster]. On the trip they pretend to be river pirates, look for hidden treasure, attend their own funeral and witness a murder.
