The hotel has a new manager named Salah (Mustafa Fahmi) who had recently been released from prison. Salah, who has a secret side business as an arms dealer, is an extremely cruel man. In his earlier years his marriages had been unsuccessful because of his infidelities and now he has become an older man without ever being close to a woman. Jamila takes up with him and abandons her husband for the sake of her career, thinking he can help her socially, but she then tires of Salah and returns to Azmi; this leads to a violent altercation when Salah tries to take revenge against Jamila for abandoning him.
