Plot summary: Marcello is an urbane journalist in Rome who is trying to develop his professional skills while he is torn between city social life and his girlfriend's enforced domesticity.

This is a 27" x 41" US one-sheet poster for the 1956 Jean Delannoy film The Hunchback of Notre Dame based on the 1831 Victor Hugo novel with screenplay by Jean Aurenche, Jacques Prevert and Ben Hecht and starring Anthony Quinn as Quasimodo. Plot summary: In Paris in 1842 at the Festival of Fools the alchemist Claude Frollo [Alain Cuny] orders his servant the deformed bell ringer Quasimodo to kidnap the beautiful Gypsy dancer Esmerelda [Gina Lollobrigida]. When he approaches her Quasimodo is unable to resist Esmerelda's beauty.

Satyricon (1969) - (dir: Federico Fellini) Argentine one-sheet

This is a 29" x 43" Argentine one-sheet poster for the 1969 Federico Fellini film Satyricon based losely on a series of bawdy and satirical episodes from a book attributed to Gaius Petronius Arbiter written in the first century with story and screenplay by Federico Fellini, Bernardino Zapponi and Brunello Rondi and starring Martin Potter as Encolpio. Plot summary: When Encolpio's lover Gitone [Max Born] is sold to the actor Vernacchio [Fanfulla] by Ascilto [Hiram Keller], Encolpio abducts Gitone in an act of reclamation while Gitone is onstage performing with Vernacchio. After Encolpio and Gitone leave together, Ascilto follows them and persuades Gitone to come back with him. This is the first in the long series of fragmentary vignettes that comprise the film after the fashion of Petronius's book, which also survives only in fragments.

Pictured here are the 11" x 14" #4 US lobby card and the 27" x 41" US one-sheet for the 1957 Jean Delannoy film The Hunchback of Notre Dame based on the novel by Victor Hugo, screenplay by Jean Aurenche and Jacques Prevert and starring Anthony Quinn as Quasimodo, the hunchback. Plot summary: This film tells a slightly sanitized version of Hugo's 1830 story about the unlikely 15th-Century love between the tortured hunchback Quasimodo and the beautiful Gypsy street dancer Esmerelda [Gina Lollobrigida], who wins Quasimodo's heart by giving him water while he is being publicly flogged. For this performance Lollobrigida won the Bambi award for best actress.
