This is an original 12" x 14.5" Egyptian lobby card for the 1946 film Love among the Elders written and directed by Mohammad Abdel Gawad, dialogue by Youssef Gohar and starring Fatma Rouchdi as Ahlam. Plot summary: Mokhtar [Mansi Fahmi] was a learned man and a thinker who did not acknowledge the authority of women. He maintained a barrier in his relations with them, but then a woman named Ahlam conquered his heart and he changed his mind. His friend and student Rauf [Yehia Chahine] also loved Ahlam, who was living with Mokhtar at the time to escape the authority of her criminal father after Mokhtar had taken her in to help her recover from an attempted suicide. Mokhtar offered to marry her to protect her from her father, without knowing Rauf's feelings about her and even though she did not love him. After they had an argument Ahlam ran away with Rauf but then went back to Mokhtar because she felt guilty. She discovered he had gone blind and become more violent and cruel than ever. He threatened to kill himself if she left him. Ahlam shot herself but survived; Mokhtar then sacrificed his love for her so she could marry Rauf.

This is a rare original 13" x 13.5" Egyptian lobby card with key art designed by Solly for the 1954 Salah Abouseif film The Beast AKA The Monster AKA Al-Wahsh based on a story by Egyptian Nobel laureate Naguib Mahfouz with screenplay by Naguib Mahfouz and Salah Abouseif, dialogue by El Sayed Bedeir and starring Anwar Wagdi as Officer Raouf Saleh. Plot summary: Abdel Sabour [Mahmoud El-Meliguy] was a thief and a smuggler known as The Beast to the people in one of the villages of upper Egypt; everyone was afraid of him, including the police. He enjoyed the protection of Redwan Pasha, [Abbas Fares] who in turn used him during elections to eliminate his rivals. Officer Raouf Saleh was sent to the village with his wife and son with the assignment of arresting The Beast. However The Beast and his gang worked together from the beginning trying to dispose of the officer and his family in any way possible. The photo shows Officer Raouf giving a cigarette to the Beast.

This is a 7" x 10" first printing of 16-page Egyptian program for the 1944 Niazi Mostafa 105-minute black-and-white film Hassan and Hassan [hassan wa hassan] starring Mohammed Al Kahlawi based on a screenplay by Niazi Mostafa with story and dialogue by Abu Seoud El-Ibiary and cinematography by Mostafa Hassan. The film was produced and distributed by Nahas Film. The program has a plot, song lyrics and cast photographs. Plot summary: One Hassan drove a taxi and the other was a hustler. The hustler married the cousin of the brother of the taxi driver so he could drain his assets with the delusion of the existence of a profitable company. On the train the two of them met Houria, a girl from a conservative family and they both loved her, but she had a maid who was going to marry Hassan the hustler. Houria's family was angry because her daughter was marrying a driver and they beat him. The hustler tricked Houria's father and almost went to prison but Hassan the driver intervened to save him, and he persuaded the family to accept him.

This is an original year 8" x 11" 12-page Egyptian film program for the 1956 Niazi Mostafa film First Love based on a story by Gerda Corbett and Botros Zarbenelli and starring Samia Gamal [1924 - 1994] as Zeinab. The program includes song lyrics, plot and key photographic images. Plot Summary: There was a quarrel between Senia the first dancer in a dance troupe and its director, and he fired her. This gave Zeinab an opportunity to be the troupe's lead dancer. However the group's main singer refused to sing in front of her. Zeinab suggested to the director that he give the opportunity to her lover, a novice singer named Salah, who succeeded with his first trial; this made Senia resent him. She told Salah Zeinab was in a relationship with the director, whereupon Salah's relationship with Zeinab soured. The director rehired Senia. There was a quarrel between Senia's assistants and Zeinab's assistants just before a performance began. When Zeinab performed she made a place for herself in the public eye. Then she went back to Salah, who had seen the truth.

Pictured is an original 6.5" x 9" 16-page Egyptian film program for the 1944 Hussein Fawzi film My Name is Satuta [ana satuta] starring Sabah (1927 - 2014) based on screenplay and story by Hussein Fawzi, dialogue by Hassan Tewfik and cinematograpy by George Saad. The program includes song lyrics, plot and key photographic art. Plot summary: Reshwan was a wealthy man living with his nephew Abbas. Abbas was waiting for his uncle to die so he could inherit his wealth, but Reshwan was hoping not to die before finding his granddaughter (who had been separated from her father) so she could inherit his considerable wealth. The granddaughter Satuta [Sabah] was an artist who worked in a traveling theater troupe; Reshwan found information about her location and went to the troupe to see her, but they introduced him to a differerent girl, also named Satuta. The troup was plannning to use the impersonator to get Reshwan's money, but then after a series of encounters Reshwan finally developed an attachment for the substitute Satuta. Only then did he realize the truth, embrace the right Satuta and give his wealth to her. However he did not abandon the other Satuta who had pretended to be his granddaughter. He kept her with him so he could take care of her.

This is an 8" x 10.5" 12-page film program for the 1954 Ezzel Dine Zulficar film Appointmennt with Life based on the 1939 Edmund Goulding film Dark Victory starring Bette Davis, written by Ezzel Dine Zulficar and Youssef Issa and starring Faten Hamama as Amal. Plot summary: Engineer Ahmad loved Amal and lived with her in the same house with her friend Fatima, daughter of the farm overseer. Fatima loved the doctor Mamdouh, but he was unaware of it. Amal's father, who was a great doctor, discovered that she had a serious heart disease. He kept this information from her. However Amal happened to hear a conversation between her father and Dr. Mamdouh about her own critical condition, and she learned the truth. Amal began taking steps to make it possible for Ahmad to leave her and not have a relationship with her, despite the love between them. Amal's father was hoping to operate on her to save her life, and when he did so it improved her condition. Ahmad understood the situation and Amal's secret she had been trying to keep from him. Amal was ready to marry Ahmad and Fatima agreed to marry Dr. Mamdouh.
