Fariba's Season of Oblivion (2014) - (Sareh Bayat) Iranian one-sheet

This is a 26.5" x 38" Iranian poster designed by Arezoo Nasirpoor for the 2014 Abbas Rafei film Fariba's Season of Oblivion written by Ali Asghari and Abbas Rafei and starring Sareh Bayat as Fariba. Plot summary: Fariba is a former prostitute who tries to start a new life by marrying the man she loves, but faces overwhelming obstacles. The film was not widely screened in Iran but even there Sareh Bayat was nominated for best actress at Tehran's Fajr Film Festival. It won the jury prize for best film in 2015 at the Global Nonviolent Film Festival, in 2016 at the Queens World Film Festival Sareh Bayat won the jury award for best actress in a feature and director Abbas Rafei won the special jury award for world social impact; also in 2016 director Abbas Rafei won the international feature film competition at the Salento International Film Festival. The film was dubbed in Arabic and seen as significant by many Arab viewers because of its depiction of violence against women.

Pictured is a 26.75" x 38.5" Iranian poster designed by Mohammad Hoseyn Houshmandi to promote the 2012 Behrouz Shoyabi film Corridor [dehliz] starring Reza Attarian written by Ali Asghari based on an idea by Behrouz Shoyabi with cinematography by Mehdi Ja'fari. Plot summary: Shiva [Hanie Tavassoli] was having a hard time caring for her son Amir Ali [Mohammad Reza Shirkhanloo] after her husband [Reza Attaran] was put in prison. Amir Ali had been told by his mother and a social worker that his father was in prison. He sensed his father's paternal feelings. His father was a teacher who had killed someone in a street fight and was about to be executed in retribution. He was afraid to die and wanted to be a father to his son, but the next of kin of the man killed and especially his twin sister had not forgiven his killer.

Shoyabi won the Crystal Simorgh prize as best director for a first film at the 31st Fajr Film Festival in Tehran. Hanie Tavassoli won the Crystal Simorgh Prize for best leading woman's role at the 31st Fajr Film Festival. Reza Attaran won the prize for best leading man's role at the Iran Cinema Critics Association Festival in 2013. Ali Asghar won the prize for best screenplay at the 2013 Iran Cinema Critics Association Festival.
