Hidden Fire (1990) - (Ali Akbar Bahadori) Iranian one-sheet

This is 26.5" x 38" poster designed by Bateni for the 1990 film Hidden Fire written and directed by Habib Kavosh and starring Ali Akbar Bahadori. This is an anti-Israeli propaganda film made in Persian for domestic consumption in Iran. It invokes the memory of the 16 September 1982 massacre at the Sabra and Shatila refugee camp in West Beirut. Plot summary: In the early 1980s at a poolside gathering in southern Lebanon Jacob, a Jew of Lebanese extraction, is killed along with a number of his associates by a group of Israelis dressed as Palestinian combatants. Jacob's sister and his daughter Sara survive the attack. The Palestinian combatants realize the goal of the Israelis is to incite public opinion against their struggle so they expose the ones who are really behind the attack. After taking part in an unsuccessful terrorist operation against Abu Khalil and his son Abu Ali, Sara realizes her Israeli fiance designed and executed the plot to kill her father. Israeli soldiers retaliate and arrest a group of Palestinian leaders, including Abu Khalil. After this incident two Palestinian combatants wipe out the Israeli Command Staff in a suicide operation.

This is a 26.25" x 37.5" Iranian poster by an unknown designer for the 1990 Habib Kavosh Persian language film Hidden Fire starring Ali Akbar Bahadori. Plot summary: Jacob, a Lebanese Jew, was shot dead at a private gathering along with a number of his companions by a group of people dressed as Palestinian combatants. Jacob's sister and his daughter Sara survived. When the Palestinian combatants realized the aim of the Israelis in this episode was to incite public opinion against their struggle they exposed the ones who were behind it. After participating in an unsuccessful terrorist operation against Abu Khalil and his Son Abu Ali, Sara realized that her Israeli fiancee had planned and carried out the plot to kill her father. The Israeli soldiers retaliated and arrested a group of Palestinian leaders, including Abu Khalil. After that incident two Palestinian combatants destroyed the Israeli Command Staff in a suicide operation. This film is official Iranian propaganda in the political aftermath of the massacre at Sabra and Shatila Camp in West Beirut in September 1982.
