This is a 26" x 38" Polish one-sheet poster designed by M. A. Kwiatkowski for the 1988 Chris Menges film A World Apart written by Shawn Slovo and starring Barbara Hershey as Diana Roth (Ruth First). Plot summary: Set in apartheid Johannesburg in 1963, this film tells the story from a teenage girl's point of view of the social ostracization suffered by a white activist family living in a comfortable suburb as they engage in political protest against racial injustice. The teenage girl is Molly Roth played by Jodhi May. The film was winner of the 1989 BAFTA award for best screenplay (Shawn Slovo), 1988 Cannes Film Festival Best Actress (tied between Jodhi May, Barbara Hershey and Linda Mvusi), 1988 Cannes Film Festival Special Jury Prize (Chris Menges), Evening Standard British Film Award for Most Promising Newcomer (Jodhi May), New York Film Critics Circle Awards Best Director (Chris Menges) and Sweden's 25th Guldagge Awards Best Foreign Language Film.

This is a 27" x 40" US one-sheet for the 1983 Philip Kaufman film The Right Stuff based on the 1979 book by Tom Wolfe, screenplay by Philip Kaufman and starring Sam Shepard as Chuck Yeager. Plot Summary: This film dramatizes the early years of the American space program beginning in 1947 with tests of the Bell X-1 through 1963 with the launch of the Mercury Atlas 9, the flight on which the last American flew into space alone.
