Plot summary: In 19th Century Spain Don José is a sergeant who falls in love with a gypsy girl named Conchita [Tina Aumont] employed in a workshop in his military fort. Don José gets the job of escorting Conchita to a police station in town after she is charged with assault. Conchita outsmarts him and gets away, which causes him to be demoted.
