Minesweeper (1943) - (Richard Arlen) Argentine one-sheet

This is a 29" x 43" Argentine one-sheet poster closely derived from the design of the US poster for the 1943 William Berke film Minesweeper based on a screenplay by Edward T. Lowe Jr. and Maxwell Shane and starring Richard Arlen as Richard Houston. Plot summary: Richard Houston goes back into the navy under an assumed name when World War II starts, after having deserted as a navy lieutenant before the war to avoid gambling debts. In his new job he is tasked with defusing mines in San Diego Harbor as he works to keep his real identity secret.

Timber Queen (1944) - (Richard Arlen) Argentine one-sheet

This is a 29" x 43" Argentine one-sheet poster derived from a US one-sheet design for the 1944 Frank McDonald 66-minute black-and-white film Timber Queen based on a screenplay by Maxwell Shane and and Edward T. Lowe Jr. and starring Richard Arlen as Russell Evans. Plot summary: Elaine Graham [Mary Beth Hughes] is a nightclub singer who has inherited a logging company, but it is not doing well. Even so, the nightclub singer is now the Timber Queen, running a logging operation with the help of a poorly suited crew of city boys who are neither skilled at the craft nor accustomed to physical labor. Russ Evans, her late husband's Air Force buddy, volunteers to help cut the wood for a large lumber shipment to meet the troubled company's expenses; he also pilots a small service plane at crucial points in the plot.

Forced Landing (1941) - (Richard Arlen) Argentine poster

This is a 29" x 43" Argentine poster for the 1941 Gordon Wiles film Forced Landing based on a screenplay by Edward Churchill and Maxwell Shane and starring Richard Arlen as Dan Kendall. Plot summary: In a fictitious tropical country called Mosaque (which looks very much like some part of South America) an American pilot named Dan Kendall gets into a fight with a local Colonel Golas [Nils Asther] when he buys a drink for the man's fiance Johanna Van Deuren [Eva Gabor]. Dan is arrested and then released after the colonel learns he has saved Johanna's life earlier in the day, but part of the bargain is that Dan must resign his commission and go to work for the Mosaque Civil Airline. Unbeknownst to Dan, the colonel is sabotaging the airline's payroll flights and diverting the funds. This was Eva Gabor's film debut.
