This is a 27" x 41" US one-sheet poster for the 1986 John Landis film Three Amigos based on a screenplay by Steve Martin, Lorne Michaels and Randy Newman and starring Steve Martin as Lucky Day. Plot summary: Three unemployed silent movie cowboys accept an invitation to perform in the Mexican village of Santa Poco, unaware that the village is being harassed by a gang of outlaws. For the first time in their lives the cowboy stars must do gunplay with real desperados.

The Jerk (1979) - (Steve Martin) US one-sheet

This is a 27" x 41" US one-sheet for the 1979 Carl Reiner film The Jerk based on a story by Steve Martin and Carl Gottlieb, screenplay by Steve Martin, Carl Gottlieb and Michael Elias and starring Steve Martin as Navin R. Johnson. This was Steve Martin's first starring role in a feature film. Plot summary: Navin personally narrates his story for the viewer. He tells us he is a foolish homeless bum adopted by an African American sharecropper who does not realize he is adopted until adulthood. He leaves home and hitchhikes to St. Louis looking for the Roger Wolfe Kahn Orchestra, whose performance of "Crazy Rhythm" he has heard on the radio and liked. On the road he falls in love with Marie [Bernadette Peters], but Marie reluctantly leaves him because of the lack of financial security. Navin's fortunes take a turn for the better when an invention is a commercial success, so he finds and marries Marie. Then problems with the invention and a series of lawsuits reverse his fortunes; Navin is soon homeless again and abandoned once more by Marie.

This is a US 27" x 40' one-sheet poster for the 1982 Carl Reiner film Dead Men Don't Wear Plaid based on a story by Carl Reiner, George Gipe and Steve Martin and starring Steve Martin as private investigator Rigby Reardon. Plot summary: The dialogue and events of the film are assembled in a collage to make a new story from 18 vintage noir films, to which it both pays tribute and spoof. With the help of Phillip Marlowe [Humphrey Bogart] Reardon investigates the cause of the mysterious auto crash that has killed John Hay Forrest [George Gaynes]; he is hired to do this by Forrest's daughter Juliet [Rachel Ward], with whom he also falls in love. Rigby's affection for Rachel threatens to derail his professional objectivity as a criminal plot slowly emerges to destroy the world with deadly cheese mold.
