Plot summary: In 1909 while attending school in Cambridge two male students fall in love. Fearing the social stigma of being in a relationship with a man, Clive later gives up his love for Maurice Hall [James Wilby] and marries a wealthy woman named Anne Woods [Phoebe Nicholls]. Maurice then falls in love with Alec Scudder, [Rupert Graves] Clive's gamekeeper.
