Mankiewicz and Ranald MacDougall and starring Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra. Plot summary: In 48 B.C. Julius Caesar [Rex Harrison] falls in love with Cleopatra upon his arrival in Egypt in pursuit of Pompey. They go to Rome together and have a son, but after Caesar is assassinated Cleopatra returns to Egypt. Later Mark Antony [Richard Burton] is also smitten by Cleopatra.
