This is an 18.5" x 28" Yugoslavian poster for the 1963 Joseph L. Mankiewizc film Cleopatra based on the histories of Plutarch, Suetonius and Appian, screenplay by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, Ranald MacDougall and Sidney Buchman and starring Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra. Plot summary: Beginning in the year 48 B.C. Cleopatra forms strategic alliances, first with Caesar, [Rex Harrison, whom she uses to secure the banishment of her rival brother Ptolemy, [Richard O'Sullivan] and then with Mark Antony [Richard Burton] after Caesar's assassination in 44 B.C.

This is a 27" x 39" Egyptian poster designed by Ahmed Fouad for the 1974 Alan Bridges film Brief Encounter based on a play by Noel Coward, screenplay by John Bowen and starring Sophia Loran as Anna Jesson. Plot summary: Alec Harvey [Richard Burton} and Anna Jesson meet for the first time at a railroad station. Although they are both married to other people, they fall in love. It seems a beautiful feeling to them, but it actually turns out to be a stubborn social no-no that generates disturbing complications and difficult problems in other parts of their lives.

The Voyage (1974) - (Sophia Loren) US one-sheet

This is a 27" x 41" US one-sheet poster for the 1974 Vittorio De Sica film The Voyage AKA Il Viaggio based on a novel by Luigi Pirandello, screenplay by Diego Fabbri, Massimo Franciosa and Luisa Montagnana and starring Sophia Loren as Adriana De Mauro. Plot summary: In Sicily several years before World War I Adriana de Mauro and Cesar Braggi [Richard Burton] are in love, but Cesar's brother Antonio [Ian Bannen] also wants to marry Adriana. Cesar steps aside and allows this to comply with his father's dying wish, to Adriana's great disappointment. After initial reluctance she agrees because of the social advantages to their families. Five years later, after having had a son with Adriana, Antonio dies in an automobile accident. Cesar reenters Adriana's life, but Adriana is then diagnosed with a terminal illness. Cesar still proposes to her, but Adriana's mother Signora De Mauro [Barbara Pilavin] bitterly objects.

The Battle of Sutjeska (1973) - (Richard Burton) Spanish one-sheet

This is a 27" x 39" Spanish poster designed by Mauro to promote the 1973 Yugoslavian film by Stipe Delic, The Battle of Sutjeska based on writing by Sergey Bondarchuk, Wolf Mankovitsch, Ugo Pirro, Branimir Scepanovic and Miljenko Smoje and starring Richard Burton as Marshal Josip Broz Tito. Plot summary: The Battle of Sutjeska, also known as the Fifth Offensive, is the story of the fight in 1943 against the occupying Nazi powers by Yugoslavian partisans in Nazi-occupied Bosnia and Hercegovina under the leadership of Marshal Tito. Although the partisans are outgunned, outnumbered and outmaneuvered, they are able to hold their own for a time in the Durmitor mountainous region, until they are surrounded by Axis forces, who outnumber them six to one. After the partisans fight their way out there is a huge battle where the partisans prevail on the plains of Sutjeska in southeastern Bosnia.

This is a 55" x 77" two-piece Italian four-sheet poster using the classic art by Howard Terpning to promote the 1963 Joseph L. Mankiewicz film Cleopatra with screenplay by Joseph L. Mankiewicz and Ranald MacDougall and starring Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra. Plot summary: In 48 B.C. Julius Caesar [Rex Harrison] falls in love with Cleopatra upon his arrival in Egypt in pursuit of Pompey. They go to Rome together and have a son, but after Caesar is assassinated Cleopatra returns to Egypt. Later Mark Antony [Richard Burton] is also smitten by Cleopatra.
