Light of Her Eyes (1990) - (Fifi Abdou) Egyptian one-sheet

This is a 27" x 39" Egyptian one-sheet poster designed by Al-Khad for the 1990 Hussein Kamal film Light of Her Eyes based on the novel by Naguib Mahfouz, screenplay and dialogue by Wahid Hamid and starring Adel Adham as Deibis. Plot Summary: Deibis killed his rival Hosouma. Hosouma's widow gave birth to a daughter named Nour [Fifi Abdou] at the very moment Deibis was killing him. Nour's mother hid her daughter and educated her. After the death of the mother the daughter found herself alone but still remembering her past and her desire for revenge against Deibis. Nour married her cousin Mohsen [Abdel Salam Mohamed], who tried to provoke bad behavior in her. This got her put in prison for indecency. After she served her time she got a divorce. She decided to get a job in Deibis's factory to get revenge against him. Deibis made advances to Nour but she rebuffed him and he fired her. Nour then became a professional dancer; Deibis found her, offered to marry her and confessed to his crime. She told him who she really was and after many years Deibis was arrested and had to pay for his crime.

Marriage by Airmail (1976) - (Adel Imam) Egyptian one-sheet

This is a 27" x 39" Egyptian poster made by an unknown designer to promote the 1967 93-minute Ahmed Sarwat color film Marriage by Airmail starring Adel Imam, Farid Shawqi and Nahed Sherif based on story, screenplay and dialogue by Farouk Said with cinematography by Ramzi Ibrahim; the film was produced by Hussein Yaqut Films and distributed by Al-Salam Films. Plot summary: Gharib [Adel Imam] and Fakri [Sameer Ghanem] were exchanging letters about Fekry going to America. Fakry was working for a cabaret owner [Farid Shawqi] even though he was harsh in his dealings with the cabaret owner's daughter Amira, [Nahed Sherif] who had decided to run away from her father's home. She went to Gharib's house to take refuge with him at a time when Fakri was writing to Gharib asking him to find him a bride. Gharib presented the idea to Amira and she agreed to it; Fakri married her by proxy so she could get away from her father and his violence. Over time Amira discovered she loved Gharib and that he had the same feelings for her. Fakri arrived in Cairo to get his bride and learned the whole story; he divorced Amira so his lifetime friend Gharib could marry her.
