Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) - (Russell Crowe) Egyptian one-sheet

Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (2003) - (Russell Crowe) Egyptian one-sheet

This is 26.5" x 38" Egyptian one-sheet poster for the 2003 Peter Weir film Master and Commander based principally on four of the 21 novels about the Napoleonic wars from Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey-Maturin series, Master and Commander, HMS Surprise>, The Letter of Marque and The Far Side of the World, screenplay by Peteri Weir and John Collee and starring Russell Crowe as Captain Jack Aubrey. Plot summary: The film depicts events in 1805 during the Napoleonic wars instead of 1813 during the Anglo-American War as told in O'Brian's original story, and centers around a conflict between the HMS Surprise and the French privateer frigate Acheron, a model of which was rendered in the film based on a reconstruction of the USS Constitution. The film, like O'Brian's novels, is noteworthy for its careful attention to historical detail.

Cast and crew: Peter O'Brian, Russell Crowe, Peter Weir, John Collee, Paul Bettany, James D'Arcy, Edward Woodall, Chris Larkin, Max Pirkis, Jack Randall, Max Benitz, Lee Ingleby, Richard Pates, Robert Pugh
