This is a 27" x 39" Spanish one-sheet poster designed by Max for a 1978 rerelease of the 1940 Ludwig Berger, Michael Powell and Tim Whelan film The Thief of Bagdad based on a story by Miklos Rozsa, screenplay by Miles Malleson and starring Conrad Veidt as Jaffar. Plot summary: Ahmad [John Justin] is the naive king of Bagdad. His evil grand vizier Jaffar tricks him and has him thrown into a dungeon. Fortunately for Ahmad, a young thief named Abu [Sabu] is already in the dungeon and cleverly arranges their escape. After Ahmad is free again he is able to go to Basra and compete with Jaffar for the love of its princess, [June Duprez] who favors Ahmad over Jaffar. Meanwhile Abu meets a genie [Rex Ingram] who grants him three wishes.

This is an Egyptian poster printed by al-Nasr printers of Cairo to promote a 1974 rerelease of the 1940 Ludwig Berger and Michael Powell film The Thief of Baghdad based on a screenplay by Miles Malleson and starring Sabu as Abu the thief. Plot summary: Prince Ahmad [John Justin], the blinded and forsaken rightful king of Baghdad, is unjustly imprisoned; while in captivity he meets the thief Abu, who has also been imprisoned. The two of them find a way to escape the prison and embark upon a series of fantastic adventures.
