This is a 19.5"x 28" Yugoslavian poster for the 1964 Michelangelo Antonioni film Red Desert written by Michelangelo Antonioni and Tonino Guerra and starring Monica Vitti as Giuliana. Plot summary: Giuliana is having a hard time coping in the bleak industrial neighborhood where she lives. Her marriage to factory manager Ugo [Carlo Chionetti] is unsatisfactory so she has an affair with Corrado Zeller, [Richard Harris] who works at Ugo's plant. The affair does not meet her needs either.

More than a Miracle (1967) - (Sophia Loren) Argentine one-sheet

This is a 27" x 39" Argentine promotional poster for the 1967 Francesco Rosi film More than a Miracle based loosely on a collection of 50 fairy tales called Pentamerone assembled in the 17th Century by Giambatista Basile and published posthumously in 1634 and 1636 by his sister Adriana. The collection was incorporated with acknowledgements into the third edition of Grimm's Fairy Tales (1847) and Wilhelm Grimm praised it as the first national collection of fairy tales. The screenplay is by Tonino Guerra, Raffaele La Capria and Francesco Rosi. Sophia Loren stars as Isabella Candeloro and Omar Sharif stars as Prince Rodrigo Fernandez. Plot summary: Prince Rodrigo is ordered by the king to choose a wife from among seven princesses, but falls for the lowly peasant girl Isabella instead.

Blow-up (R1987) - (David Hemmings) Polish one-sheet

Pictured is a 26" x 37" Polish "B1" poster designed by Waldemar Swierzy for a 1987 rerelease of the 1966 Michelangelo Antonioni film Blow-up based on a story by Michelangelo Antonioni, the short story "Las babas del diablo" by Julio Cortazar, screenplay by Michelangelo Antonioni and Tonino Guerra and starring Vanessa Redgrave as Jane and David Hemmings as Thomas. According to Wikipedia, this film's deliberate defiance of the Production Code with explicit sexual content was one of the events that led in 1968 to the abandonment of the code in favor of the MPAA film rating system. The character of the film's photographer Thomas is inspired by the life of London photographer David Bailey. The film also includes footage of Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck performing with the Yardbirds. Plot summary: Thomas is a London fashion photographer who believes he has unwittingly photographed a murder while photographing two lovers in Maryon Park without their permission.
