Blow-up (R1987) - (David Hemmings) Polish one-sheet

Pictured is a 26" x 37" Polish "B1" poster designed by Waldemar Swierzy for a 1987 rerelease of the 1966 Michelangelo Antonioni film Blow-up based on a story by Michelangelo Antonioni, the short story "Las babas del diablo" by Julio Cortazar, screenplay by Michelangelo Antonioni and Tonino Guerra and starring Vanessa Redgrave as Jane and David Hemmings as Thomas. According to Wikipedia, this film's deliberate defiance of the Production Code with explicit sexual content was one of the events that led in 1968 to the abandonment of the code in favor of the MPAA film rating system. The character of the film's photographer Thomas is inspired by the life of London photographer David Bailey. The film also includes footage of Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck performing with the Yardbirds. Plot summary: Thomas is a London fashion photographer who believes he has unwittingly photographed a murder while photographing two lovers in Maryon Park without their permission.

Cast and crew: Michelangelo Antonioni, Julio Cortazar, Tonino Guerra, Waldemar Swierzy, Vanessa Redgrave, Sarah Miles, David Hemmings, John Castle, Jane Birkin, Gillian Hills, Peter Bowles, Jimmie Page, Jeff Beck, David Bailey, Veruschka von Lehndorff, Julian Chagrin, Claude Chagrin
