This is a 13" x 27.5" Iranian locandina poster for the 1983 Mehdi Sabbaghzadeh film Senator written by Fereydoun Jeyrani and starring Faramarz Gharibian as Warrant Officer Haqgu. Plot summary: During the reign of Mohammad Reza Shah, Warrant Officer Haqgu finds some bags of heroin stashed in a truckload of wheat. He arrests Ali Haqiqat, [Bijan Emkanian] the driver, but he says he is innocent and knew nothing about the heroin. He says Senator Valatabar, [Saeed Neyvandi] who hired him to drive the truck, is head of the heroin smuggling and distribution network. Haqgu reports this to the Sheriff's Intelligence Office, but law enforcement allegiances are not what he expects.

Plot summary: Akram [Afsaneh Bayegan] has an argument with her husband Majid Ostevari, [Faramarz Gharibian] a bank cashier. Majid vehemently objects to her taking money from his wallet without telling him. She leaves home in anger, goes home to her parents and falsely tells her father Abbas Safarian [Jamshid Mashayekhi] that Majid struck her. Majid has also come up 20000 tumans short in his cash drawer at the bank; then he has an accident driving home.

This is a 22.5" x 39" Iranian poster for the 1989 film The Night before the Accident written and directed by Sirus Alvand based on a story by Fereydoun Jeyrani and starring Bijan Emkanian as Amir Hossein Sanaifar. Plot summary: After the holidays Amir Hossein Sanaifar [Bijan Emkanian] and his wife Homa [Sogand Rahmani] are heading back to Tehran so Amir can get back to work on time at the telephone company. He takes Homa to her sister's home in Rasht and then heads for the capital. Driving at night he hits a young boy. Thinking he has killed him he leaves him on the road. In Tehran a man named Nader [Parviz Poorhosseini] informs him he has found his wallet at the accident site and that he is the boy's father. Years earlier Nader had lost a leg in an accident and he is now planning to torment Amir for fleeing the scene. Nader has also told Homa about what happened, which further damages the already troubled relationship between Amir and Homa. It gradually becomes clear Nader's son is alive and Nader is planning to get revenge against Amir and his wife. Nader's wife tells Amir about her husband's intentions. When Nader is about to kill Homa Amir turns up and saves her.

Plot summary: Masoud Mehrju is planning to leave the country and abandon his wife Parvaneh Mahan [Katayoun Riahi] and their child. Before the separation they take a trip to see a relative. On the way they pick up a stranger [Dariush Arjmand] on the roadside who has been injured in an accident. He forces them at gunpoint to take him to his home in the beautiful mountain village of Paeezan. The stranger dies before they get there, but first he says something to Masoud that causes him to change his mind about leaving the country. He goes back to living as before.

This is a 26.5" x 38.5" Iranian poster designed by Sheyban Khaghani to promote the 2012 Fereydoun Jeyrani 97-minute color film I Am a Mother [man madar hastam] starring Baran Kosari based on a story by Fereydoun Jeyrani with cinematography by Morteza Ghofari. Plot summary: The lives of two prosperous families are falling apart. Things happen in the life of a 19-year-old girl named Ava in one of the families [Baran Kosari] that expose many secrets in the lives of the people in the story.

Poster warning in top left corner: The topic of this film is social pathology; it is not recommended for people under the age of 16.

As the film begins this quote appears in white letters against a black background: "All happy families are all alike; each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way." Leo Tolstoy, Anna Karenina Chapter 1.

Some conservative religious groups in Iran including the Ansar-e Hezbollah protested the screening of this film and demanded the revocation of its exhibition license. The film was edited to accomodate these protests.
