Hell under My Foot [jihannam zire paye man] (1964) - (Fardin) Iranian film poster

Shown here is an Iranian poster designed by Davvalu to promote the 1964 Reza Safai 84-minute black-and-white film Hell under My Foot starring Fardin based on a screenplay by Reza Safai with cinematography by Reza Anjamruz. The film was produced by the 555 Cinema Organization. Plot summary: The two brothers Yarqoli and Yazdahqoli Hassanabadi lose their family in an earthquake. Yarqoli sends his brother to the city to become a physician. Master Rostam's eyes are on Reyhaneh, Yarqoli's fiance. The master persuades the chief of the guard station to force Yarqoli to sell his garden and pay him back for paying for his brother's education. Yarqoli blinds the master with a ballpoint pen and is sentenced to a prison term. A girl named Mehri Shayesteh injures Yazdanqoli with her automobile and visits Yazdanqoli with her father, who is a high-ranking army officer. The girl's father suggests to Yazdanqoli that he go into military service and he accepts. After his release from prison Yarqoli becomes a rebel and goes on a killing and plunder rampage in the village with several other people. Yazdanqoli and some other military people are charged with putting down the rebellion, and he asks his brother Yarqoli to surrender. Master Rostam kidnaps Marjaneh, Yarqoli's fiance and accuses Yarqoli of the kidnapping. With the help of the master's superintendent Sohrab, Yarqoli saves Marjaneh and surrenders. At the advice of Reyhaneh, Yarqoli's people attack the guard station but Yarqoli is not willing to flee until Reyhaneh receives a bullet wound from one of Reyhaneh's people and asks Yarqoli to take her to a safe place. Reyhaneh dies, Yarqoli shoots down Master Rostam and he himself is shot to death by Yarqoli.

Pictured is a 27.5" x 13" Iranian promotional poster designed by Carlo to promote the 1967 Amin-e-Amini film Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves of Baghdad starring Reza Beyk Imanverdi based on a screenplay by Amin-e-Amini with cinematography by Fereydun Reypoor. The film was produced by the Golden Age Studio. Plot summary: Ali Baba was loved by the poor and favored by the wealthy. Once in a while he would attack a wealthy person with his 40 fighters, but in one clash he saw the ruler's daughter and became enamored of her. Thereafter in his fighting Ali Baba was plotting to take the city away from the ruler. Ali Baba eventually prevailed and married the ruler's daughter.

This is a 27.5" x 13" Iranian poster designed by Davallu to promote the 1965 Reza Fazeli 101-minute black-and-white film Jack of All Trades [hameh sar harif] starring Ali Azad based on a screenplay by Ahmad Shamlu with cinematography by Homayoun Arjomand. The film is a product of Caravan Films and Middle East Films. Plot summary: After his wife's death a man married a widow. Both of them had daughters from their first marriages. The wealthy man's new wife tried to eliminate his daughter so she could inherit her husband's wealth; however a young man told the girl about the plot against her and saved her from disaster. At the same time the wealthy man, the father of the girl, was killed and in a trumped-up scenario the young man was accused of the murder. The young man fled before he was arrested and after investigating he realized the murderer was really the brother of the wealthy man, whom everyone had thought to be dead. The murderer was arrested and the girl married the young man.

This is a 20" x 29.25" Iranian poster designed by Ojaqian to promote the 1966 142-minute Ismail Riyahi black-and white film World Champion [jahan pahlavan] with screenplay by Ismail Riyahi and cinematography by Mehdi Amir Qasemkhani, starring Mohammad Ali Fardin. The film was produced by Sina Film. Plot summary: A child becomes separated from his parents. Years later when he has become a young man, in an accident he meets a girl from a rich family. The girl has a trickster as a fiance who has plans to steal from her family. After a series of operations the young man exposes the essence of the trickster fiance, and then through her mother she realizes he is from a noble family. After that he marries the girl he loves.
