This is a 23.5" x 35.25" Iranian poster designed by Heddat to promote the 1977 Hassan Mohammad Zadeh film Intermediaries written by Mehdi Ma'danian and starring Reza Beyk Imanverdi as Mokhtar. Plot summary: Hamid [Behrouz Behnejad] is a sociology student who goes to public houses to collect material for his thesis. When he hears about what happened to on of the girls there named Mohtaram [Farzaneh Taidi] he decides to rescue her from her criminal boss Nosrat [Abdollah Butimar]. Mohtaram turns out to be a drug addict in withdrawal, so Hamid has her hospitalized and treated, then gets her a job in a textile factory. Mokhtar, [Reza Beyk Imanverdi] the factory owner, takes an interest in Mohtaram and has his foreman Ezzat [Nematollah Gorji] get her a fancy apartment. However Mohtaram rejects his advances and takes refuge with Hamid. Mokhtar apologizes, proposes to Mohtaram and they marry, to Hamid's great distress. Nosrat collects Mohtaram's debts; then he and Mokhtar's ex-wife Atefeh [Shahnaz] decide to reveal Mohtaram's past to Mokhtar unless she goes back to work for him. Mohtaram leaves Mokhtar after seeing himmake a play for another woman.

These are two 18.25" x 26" Iranian busta-style posters by an unknown designer made to promote the 1962 Samouel Khachikian film Horror [delhoreh] starring Reza Beyk Imanverdi based on a screenplay by Samuel Khachikian with cinematography by Ghodratallah Ehsani. The film was produced by the Azhir film studio. Plot summary: Behrouz, the husband of Roshanak Niknezhad, was a writer of crime stories and he managed the factory owned by Roshanak's uncle, who had been killed in a factory accident. A man named Babak came to their home as a journalist with some love letters from Roshanak. He said he would give her five of the letters for 5000 tumans and the sixth on in return for sleeping with him. Roshanak gave Babak the money but before he could take hold of her she shot him. Roshanak went back into the house and encountered Babak, who had not been killed, several times. On the other hand a policeman named Jamshid, who had previously loved Roshanak and was investigating the mysterious death of her uncle, got involved in the episode. The police thought Roshanak had killed her uncle but in their investigations they realized that Behrouz had been behind all the incidents and that he had wanted to eliminate Roshanak and her uncle so he could take their wealth. Jamshid knocked Behrouz down and arrested his colleagues.

Thereafter in his fighting Ali Baba was plotting to take the city away from the ruler. Ali Baba eventually prevailed and married the ruler's daughter.

The film was produced by the Tehran United Cinemas Group. Plot summary: A suitcase filled with 50 million rials in jewels is stolen. The police assign one of their secret agents to find the jewels. After investigating the agent finally gets on the gang's trail. The gangleader sends his daughter to eliminate the agent. The agent, who has investigated the matter thoroughly, thwarts the girl's plan. He arrests the girl's father (the gangleader), obtains the jewels and returns them to their owner.

Shahin brought Atash out of her rude and uncultivated ways to fame and respectability; in so doing he also fell in love with her. However Atash feil in love with Afshin, the music teacher Shahin had hired for her; thus the wealthy cabaret owner and a poor musician became rivals in love. Finally after a series of incidents Shahin made his own arrangemsnts for Atash to marry Afshin.

Pictured is a 27.5" x 13" Iranian poster by an unknown designer made to promote the 1968 Reza Safai film 20th Century Ruffian [لوطی قرن بیستم luti-ye qarn-e bistom] starring Reza Beyk Imanverdi based on a screenplay by Kamal Danesh with cinematography by Reza Anjamruz. The film was produced by the Ferdowsi Film Company, distributed by the Namayesh Company. Plot summary: Hesam [Ahmad Ghadakchian] was a wealthy young man, quite serious and straight-laced. His driver Reza [Reza Beyk Imanverdi] met two girls who had come from Esfahan and Tehran looking for work. The driver found work for them in a cabaret. His boss became interested in one of them named Maryam; she gradually taught him to relax and enjoy himself and in the end she married him. The word luti [لوطی] in the Persian title is important for understanding the role of Hassan's driver, the film's titular luti; it has cultural meaning that goes beyond "ruffian." Encyclopedia Iranica has an article by Willem Floor about the local context of the word and the potential cinematic meaning of a 20th Century luti. The driver's involvement finding work for the two girls who have come to Tehran from out of town is the kind of informal role the traditional luti might have played. The drawing of actor Dariush Asadolah in the bottom right of the poster, with his ill-fitting pants, his rosary and his character's scripted tendency to emphasize repeatedly that he has a role to play, tell us he is another luti, a fringe character in society who is informally expected to perform certain functions. Most of the characters in this film have loosely defined roles which they try to elevate through negotiation and insinuation.

Abdollah was soon arrested and after a few incidents Mohsen decided to put aside the illegal activity and start living a respectable life. When Abdollah was released from prison he also started living lawfully. When the criminal was no longer getting results from his actions against them he abducted Mohsen's child to put him in a difficult situation. However with Mohsen's loyalty Abdollah was able to continue living a simple and peaceful life.
