Dalaho [دالاهو] (1967) - (Behrouz Vossoughi) Iranian film poster



Here is a 27.5" x 13" Iranian poster by an unknown designer made to promote the 1967 Syamak Yasami 98-minute color film Dalaho [دالاهو] starring Behrouz Vossoughi based on a screenplay by Ibrahim Zamani-Ashtiani with cinematography by Ahmad Shirazi. The film was produced by the Purya Film Company. Plot summary: In an old wealthy family an executor executes a will that causes bloody incidents. In this family the inheritance must not be divided and the male child is effectively considred the heir. Before this procedure was used again, the executor was apparently killed by a man named Seif who was his sister's husband. The executor's son Barzu disappeared and the executor gave the wealth to his niece Arezu. After 20 years when Seif was about to marry his son off to Arezu and transfer the inheritance to himself in this way, Barzu turned up. Seif tried several times to kill Barzu but after a series of operations it became clear Seif's plot had failed. When this became clear Seif was arrested, Arezu and Barzu married and the wealth was once again transferred in the old way.

This is a 27.5" x 19.5" Iranian promotional poster for the 1969 Esmail Kushan film Brave Generation [nesl-e shojaan نسل شجاعان] starring Cuneyt Arkin based on a screenplay by Javad Baziyaran with cinematography by Mahmud Kushan. The film was produced by Oskar films. Plot summary: During the reign of the Seljuq King Malik Shah (1072 - 1092) there was a rival to the throne. The king was a young man who was oppressed by his actions, but with guidance from the vizier Nizam ol-Mulk, after numerous clashes the rival was defeated and peace was restored to the land.

This is a 19.5" x 27.5" Iranian poster designed by Davvalu to promote the 1968 Amir Shervan 90-minute black-and-white film Thief in Black [dozd-e siyahpush] based on a screenplay by Amir Shervan with cinematography by Maziar Parto. This film was a product of the Misaghye Studio. Plot summary: Two brothers become separated during childhood. Then when they find each other after a period of time one has become known as the thief in black and the other has become a deputy of the law. The two brothers had conflicting feelings about their love for each other and the law. From then on in numerous incidents the thief in black showed he would not return to the natural and correct life, so the two of them were pitted against each other. Then the older brother was able to but the story of the thief in black behind them forever.

Pictured is a 13" x 27.5" Italian locandina-style promotional poster designed by Davvalu and printed in Iran by Jahanbakht printers to promote the 1965 Abbas Shabaviz film Our Town Blonde starring Mohammad Ali Fardin and Pouri Baneai, based on a screenplay by Abbas Shabaviz and with cinematography by Ahmad Shirazi. The film was produced by the Iran Film Company. Plot summary: A young mechanic met a woman who drew him into narcotics smuggling. In a series of events the youth exposed the gang's secrets, turned them over to the law and married the girl he loved.
