The Shores of Anticipation (1963) - (Fardin) Iranian poster

This is 19.5" x 27.5" Iranian poster for the 1963 film The Shores of Anticipation written and directed by Syamak Yasami and starring Fardin; nominated for the Grand Prize at the 1963 Moscow International Film Festival. Plot summary: Qasem Khan [Akbar Khajavi] thought he owned part of the ocean and got into a clash with some fishermen over fishing rights. Everyone joined the fight and after Qasem Khan's people dispersed the fishermen they confiscated the fish they had caught. After his son Masoud [Mohammad Ali Jafari] attacked him and said his claim to ownership of part of the sea was unconscionable Qasem Khan drove him out of the house; he took refuge with the people. Ahmad [Fardin] liked Kazem's [Gholamhossein Naghshineh] daughter Maryam [Forouzan]. Ahmad went to sea fishing with a group of fishermen but the sea was tempestuous and he turned up missing. A girl named Ghazaleh [Tahmine] living near the beach with her father [Ali Zandi] found Ahmad washed ashore unconscious; she looked after him with his broken leg. In Ahmad's absence Masoud began teaching literacy to the local people and got close to Maryam, who was pregnant with Ahmad's child; Masoud married her to save her honor and told everyone he was the father of her child. Some time later Ahmad came back to his coastal home, but Maryam preferred living with Masoud. Ghazaleh was waiting for Ahmad after Maryam left him alone on the beach.

Pictured is a 27.5" x 19.5" Iranian poster designed by Derkhim to promote the 1960 Syamak Yasami film The Strong Man [aval heykal] starring Naser Malekmotei based on a screenplay by Syamak Yasami and Ahmad Shamlu. Plot summary: The driver for a wealthy man tried to help a poor girl who was obliged to work in a cabaret by introducing her to his employer. The girl did not know the man's real identity but they became friends and eventually fell in love. Everything eventually became clear after a series of humorous events.

Here is a 27.5" x 13" Iranian poster by an unknown designer made to promote the 1967 Syamak Yasami 98-minute color film Dalaho [دالاهو] starring Behrouz Vossoughi based on a screenplay by Ibrahim Zamani-Ashtiani with cinematography by Ahmad Shirazi. The film was produced by the Purya Film Company. Plot summary: In an old wealthy family an executor executes a will that causes bloody incidents. In this family the inheritance must not be divided and the male child is effectively considred the heir. Before this procedure was used again, the executor was apparently killed by a man named Seif who was his sister's husband. The executor's son Barzu disappeared and the executor gave the wealth to his niece Arezu. After 20 years when Seif was about to marry his son off to Arezu and transfer the inheritance to himself in this way, Barzu turned up. Seif tried several times to kill Barzu but after a series of operations it became clear Seif's plot had failed. When this became clear Seif was arrested, Arezu and Barzu married and the wealth was once again transferred in the old way.

Here we have a 13" x 27.5" Iranian poster designed by Bateni to promote the 1960 Syamak Yasami 106-minute color film The Spring of Life [cheshmeh-ye ab-e hayat] starring Fardin based on a screenplay by Ibrahim Zamani with cinematography by Mahmoud Kushan. The film was produced by the Pars Film Studio. Plot summary: The secret of the spring of the water of life was revealed after 700 years on a map in the possession of a young man. Accompanied by a local girl named Ghazaleh, the youth set out to find the spring. A man named Morteza had become aware of the existence of this spring and followed them with his two brothers. When Morteza was sure he was close to the site he killed the brothers and set out to kill the youth and Ghazaleh, but he was killed himself instead; those two were not able to drink the water of life either because one of the requirements was not being in love, but they were in love.

This is a 27.5" x 14" Iranian poster designed by davallu to promote the 1967 108-minute Syamak Yasami black-and-white film Noah's Flood [طوفان نوح tufan-e nuh] starring Fardin based on a screenplay by Ibrahim Zamani-Ashtiani with cinematography by Ahmad Shirazi. The film was produced by Purya Film. Plot summary: Noah [Taghi Zohuri] was trying to save his lost son Ahmad [Nasser Malekmotei], a diamond smuggler. Noah went with his younger son Mahmoud [Fardin] and niece Parvin [Nilufar] to the border so his younger brother could present himself instead of an unknown person as a party to a smuggling transaction. Noah, who was also a man of God, asked the creator to stop his son from deviating. At the last minute Noah's older son changed his ways and saved his younger brother, who was in danger. Noah thus recovered both of his good sons once again.

This is a 17.5" x 27.5" Iranian film poster designed by Ojaqian to promote the 1958 Syamak Yasami 90-minute color film Broken Spell starring Nosratollah Mohtashem based on a screenplay by Ibrahim Zamani-Ashtiani with cinematograpy by Mahmoud Kashan. The film was produced by the Pars Film Company. Plot summary: A young man inherited his father's property. His father's steward and his uncle's wife plotted against him and the youth was injured in an accident. A gypsy girl found him and took reponsiblity for caring for him until he regained his health. The two found a liking for each other and the youth soon understood that the other half of his talisman was with the gypsy girl; it was thus clear that the gypsy girl was actually the daughter of his uncle. The steward and the wife of his uncle did not succeed with their plot. The youth took posession of his property and married his cousin.

Pictured is an Iranian 13"x27" promotional poster designed by Davvalu for the 1965 Syamak Yasami 120-minute black-and-white film Qarun's Treasure starring Mohammad Ali Fardin based on a screenplay by Syamak Yasami, Ibrahim Zamani and Ashtiani, with cinematography by Ahmad Shirazi. The film was produced by Purya Film. Plot summary: A youth saved a man named Qarun from an attempted suicide by drowning, then took him home to take care of him. Through his mother he learned Qarun was his father who in his irresponsible early years had abandoned him and his mother. The son drove the father away. Qarun was sorry about his past and tried to get his son back. In the end he succeeded.
