This is a 13" x 27.5" Italian locandina designed by Studio Paradiso for the 1963 Michele Lupo film Goliath and the Sins of Babylon based on story and screenplay by Roberto Gianviti and starring Mark Forest as Maciste / Goliath / Marcellus. Plot summary: In 200 BC a puppet of the king of Babylon has usurped the throne in the Persian Gulf Kingdom of Nephr and is demanding annual tribute of 30 beautiful virgins for the king. Goliath joins a group of 41 insurgents, including Xandros, [Giuliano Gemma] suitor to Princess Regia [José Greci].

Plot summary: On the island of Crete a ritual of sacrificing maidens to an underground Minotaur is interruped when the queen holds back one of a pair of twin sisters so they can be reunited later on.

Queen of the Pirates (1961) - (Gianna Maria Canale) US insert

This is a US 14" x 36" insert poster for the 1960 Mario Costa film Queen of the Pirates based on a story by John Byrne and Kurt Nachmann and starring Gianna Maria Canale as Sandra. Plot summary: This film is a tale of 16th century Italy set on the Adriatic coast. Sandra, the daughter of a naval officer, is sold into slavery in the Middle East along with her father Captain Mirko [Jose Jaspe]. When the daughter escapes with her father's help she becomes queen of the Adriatic pirates. The original Italian title is La Venere del pirati.
