This is a 27" x 39" Egyptian poster designed by al-Khad and Morteda Anise for the 1978 Ashraf Fahmy film The Other Woman based on story, screenplay and dialogue by Hassan Ramzy and Ahmed Abdel Wahab and starring Mervat Amin as Hoda. Plot summary: After Mahmoud [Nour El-Sherif] got his doctorate in America he was struck by the poverty in which his family was living; he decided to open a special office for his niece Hoda, a girl who secretly loved him. He met Soad, [Nabila Ebeid] the daughter of a businessman named Mokhtar [Imad Hamdi]. Mokhtar encouraged him and arranged a match between him and Soad. Mahmoud wanted to be wealthy but his marriage became unstable after he became bored with his wife. Hoda discovered there was a relationship between Soad and Adel [Magdy Wahba] and tried to separate them. Mahmoud found Hoda had stolen the details of an auction to a competitor's clients and confronted her with it. Mokhtar got involved after Hoda confirmed the relationship between Soad and Adel.

Women of the Night (1973) - (Kamal Al-Shennawi) Egyptian one-sheet

This is a 27" x 39" Egyptian poster designed by Kamal Al-Shennawi (1918-2011) for the 1973 Helmy Rafla film Women of the Night AKA nesa' al-layl based on story, screenplay and dialogue by Ahmed Abdel Wahab and Faisal Nada and starring Kamal Al-Shennawy as Ahmed Hamdy. Plot summary: Ahmed Hamdy chose a nightclub singer and dancer named Zeinab [Nahed Sherif] to model for one of his paintings. He was trying to convey a sense of loss in the portrait, which he was planning to enter in a contest at a government festival. In frequent visits to Ahmed's studio Zeinab came to understand his various feelings, the most important of which was his love for her. Ahmed's painting won a big prize at the government festival and he became famous. When he went back to Cairo, Yousria [Nelly] tried to see him because she wanted him to marry her, but even though she needed him desperately he could not stand her.

This is a 27" x 39" Lebanese one-sheet poster designed by Gasour for the 1985 Mohamed Abdel Aziz film Take Care of Your Mind based on story, screenplay and dialogue by Ahmed Abdel Wahab and starring Adel Imam as Wael Abdel Halim. Plot summary: Wael Abdel Halim was studying for a masters degree in psychology while working in a cabaret at night to meet expenses. In the mornings he would go to a hospital for field training in mental illness. He met a girl there named Salwa [Sherihan] who had severe psychological problems; he became emotionally involved and decided to marry her after she improved under his care.

My Honor (1978) - (Nagwa Ibrahim) Egyptian one-sheet

Pictured is a 27" x 39" Egyptian poster designed by Hassan Mazhar Gasour and Anis to promote the 1978 88-minute Ashraf Fahmy color film My Honor [karamati] starring Imad Abdel Halim and Nagwa Ibrahim based on story, screenplay and dialogue by Ahmed Abdel Wahab with cinematography by Ibrahim Saleh. Plot summary: Amal's husband Salah betrayed her so she decided to kill herself. Tareq tried to save her and calm her down, but she saw he was becoming attached to her and decided to go to Cairo, far away from him. He decided to follow her home to see where she lived. Salah went to her and expressed regret about what happened but she refused to go back to him at first. Later she was hurt in a traffic accident and agreed to resume their relationship when he visited her at a hospital. This film is largely a showcase for the singing of Imad Abdel Halim, in a romantic spirit reminiscent of Abdel Halim Hafez (1929-1977).

This is an undated rerelease Egyptian poster made by an unknown designer to promote the 1970 Abdel Moneim Shoukry 88-minute black-and-white film I Love You Sweetie [bahebak ya helwa] starring Nahed Sherif based on story, screenplay and dialogue by Ahmed Abdel Wahab with cinematography by Abdel Moneim Bahnassy. Plot summary: This is a burlesque romantic comedy set in the city of Luxor involving three men who are occupying an apartment on falsified terms while looking for women and more stable housing. There is a lot of adapted American hit music in the soundtrack, primarly from the repertoire of Herb Alpert.

This is a poster designed by Abdel Alim to promote the 1968 100-minute black-and-white Abdel Moneim Shoukry film Honeymoon without Disturbances starring Hassan Youssef and Nahed Sherif based on a story by Ahmed Abdel Wahab with screenplay also by Ahmed Abdel Wahab, dialogue by Esmat Khalil and cinematography by Adel Abdel Azim. Plot summary: Monir (Hassan Youssef) was a young doctor who lived in Alexandria. He married the girl he loved (Nahed Sherif) against the wishes of his father, who was from Upper Egypt. The father read about the marriage in the newspapers, had a fit of rage and decided to kill his son. He was then surprised to learn that Madbouli, with whom he had an old quarrel, had been released from prison. The father knew Madbouli wanted to kill Monir to get revenge. During a chase Madbouli thought Monir was the nurse he had met at a clinic, then learned the truth and tried to kill Monir, but failed again. He fell in the water and almost drowned, but Monir saved him. This had a great effect on Madbouli and he stopped trying to kill Monir. The father married a woman he had met at a hotel in Alamein and the couple finished enjoying their honeymoon.
