Geronimo (1962) - (Chuck Connors) US three-sheet

Geronimo (1962) - (Chuck Connors) US three-sheet

This is a US 41" x 81" three-sheet poster for the 1962 Arnold Laven film Geronimo written by Arnold Laven and Pat Fielder and starring Chuck Connors (1921-1992) as Geronimo. This is a revisionist Western that seeks to portray native Americans more sympathetically, although not a single native American or Apache Indian has a role in it. The blue-eyed all-American Connors was particularly miscast (beginning with the fact that at 6'6" Connors was much too big to be Geronimo, who was already unusually tall for an Apache at 5'8"). Plot summary: The story is a factually distorted version of what happened before Geronimo's final surrender and capture in 1886. These events begin in 1883 when Geronimo does not appear with other members of his tribe for an arranged surrender to the US Army. Geronimo continues to defy and fight the Americans for three years until he is captured in Mexico for the last time by 42 US Army companies and 4,000 Mexican troops.

Cast and crew: Arnold Laven, Pat Fielder, Chuck Connors, Kamala Devi, Pat Conway, ArmandoSilvestre, Adam West, Lawrence Dobkin, John Anderson, Enid Jaynes, Ross Martin, Denver Pyle, Nancy Rodman, Wallace Earl Laven, Eduardo Noriega, Claudio Brook, Joe Higgins

In short order the green recruits are ushered into a concerted army campaign against battle-hardened Sioux warriors; their job is to force all the Sioux onto reservations.
