This is a 13" x 27" Australian Day Bill for the 1960 Stanley Kubrick film Spartacus based on the 1951 novel of the same title by Howard Fast, screenplay by Dalton Trumbo and starring Kirk Douglas as Spartacus. Plot summary: Sparacus is a Thracian slave who in 73 BC leads thousands of slaves in a revolt against the Roman Empire. The slave revolt is ultimately defeated but the remains of Spartacus are never found.

This is a 13.25" x 27.25" Italian locandina poster designed by Enzo Nistri for a 1975 rerelease of the 1957 John Sturges film Gunfight at the OK Corral based on a screenplay by Leon Uris and starring Burt Lancaster as Wyatt Earp. Plot summary: In 1881 in Tombstone Arizona on October 26 the Earp brothers Wyatt, Morgan and Virgil and Doc Holliday have a quick shootout with an outlaw gang known as The Cowboys, killing three of them. The reason for the confrontation was Marshal Virgil Earp's decision to enforce a city ordinance requiring that weapons be deposited in a saloon during visits to Tombstone, but beyond that was a feud that had already been been simmering between the two groups. The event was recorded in 1931 by Stuart Lake in his book Wyatt Earp: Frontier Marshal, which later became the basis for this 1957 John Sturges film.

This is a 27" x 41" US poster for the 1974 Paul Harrison film The House of Seven Corpses written by Paul Harrison and Thomas J. Kelly and starring John Ireland as Eric Hartman. Plot summary: Director Eric Hartman shoots a horror film on location at a house where seven murders were committed; he has his cast reenact occult rituals that took place there. This summons a deadly force from a nearby cemetery leading to the step-by-step elimination of members of the film crew. The lines are sometimes temporarily blurred between the scenes of horror being reenacted and the horror triggered by the reenactments; this reduces the horror impact, but the story remains coherent and interesting.

This is a 27" x 39" Spanish poster by an unknown designer for a 1965 rerelease of the 1948 Howard Hawks and Arthur Rosson film Red River based on the 1946 Borden Chase Saturday Evening Post serial "Blazing Guns on the Chisholm Trail," screenplay by Borden Chase and Charles Schnee and starring John Wayne as Thomas Dunson. Plot summary: Thomas Dunson is a cattle rancher who starts a ranch in Texas and leads a cattle drive to Abilene which is the first use of what eventually becomes known as the Chisholm Trail. The story is punctuated by trouble with indians, territorial disputes, gunfights and conflicts over women.

This is a 27" x 41" US one-sheet for the 1979 Rene Cardona Jr. film Guyana Cult of the Damned AKA Guyana Crime of the Century written by Rene Cardona Jr. and starring Stuart Whitman as the Reverend James Johnson. Plot summary: This film is a dramatization of the events of the 1978 Jonestown Massacre that took place in the jungles of Guyana under the leadership of cult evangelist Jim Jones. In the film's narrative, the Reverend James Johnson moves his San Francisco congregation of 1000 to Guyana so they can create a utopia in a new "Johnsontown" commune, untainted by the corruption of the civilized world. Life there soon becomes unbearable for the settlers, who are subjected to cruelty, torture and sexual abuse at the hands of their domineering charismatic leader. These harsh realities gradually become known to the outside world when a congressman and a team of reporters go there to investigate allegations of criminal behavior.
