This is an 8" x 10" black-and-white production still for the 1932 James W. Horne film Any Old Port written by H.M. Walker and starring Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy as themselves. Mugsie Long [Walter Long], a boxer and inn proprietor, is having his neck squeezed by Stan and Ollie between the two halves of a dining table.

Plot summary: Oliver and Hardy try to enlist but are turned down, so they become air raid wardens instead. They stumble on a Nazi plot to sabotage a magnesium plant and foil it.

This is a 19.5"x 27" Yugoslavian poster for an undated rerelease of the 1938 John G. Blystone film Block-Heads based on story and screenplay by Charley Rogers, Felix Adler, James Parrott, Harry Langdon and Arnold Belgard and starring Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy as themselves. Plot summary: In 1938, ten years after the end of World War I, Stanley is still guarding his old bombed-out trench. He doesn't know the war has ended, but he finally figures it out after he shoots a French civilian's aircraft full of holes. Eventually Stan and Ollie are reunited after Ollie sees Stan's picture in a newspaper and then finds him in the National Soldier's Home.

This is a 27" x 40.25" US one-sheet for a 1961 rerelease of the 1934 Gus Meins and Charley Rogers film Revenge is Sweet AKA March of the Wooden Soldiers AKA Babes in Toyland based on a screenplay by Frank Butler and Nick Grinde and starring Stan Laurel as Stannie Dum and Oliver Hardy as Ollie Dee. Plot Summary: Stan and Ollie try to borrow money to save Mother Peep's shoe by paying off her mortgage, but things do not go well and they end up trying to save Toyland itself from the Evil Barnaby's bogeymen.

Pardon Us (1931) - (Laurel & Hardy) Indian ad hoc stock poster

This is a 30" x 40" undated Indian ad hoc stock poster for the 1931 James Parrott film Pardon Us with dialogue by H.M. Walker and starring Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy as themselves. Plot summary: Laurel and Hardy are put in prison for bootlegging; after making a brief escape they are caught again. At no time during the film do they appear in the garments they are shown wearing on this poster, but never mind! This film was a parody of the 1930 George W. Hill film The Big House. The image on the poster is taken from a 1946 rerelease lobby card for the 1940 Gordon Douglas film Saps at Sea:

This is a 29" x 43" Argentine reviews one-sheet using art by Tom Jung for the 1957 Robert Youngston film The Golden Age of Comedy written by Robert Youngson and Rene Claire and starring Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy and other prominent comics from the silent film era including Will Rogers, Ben Turpin, Harry Langdon and Charley Chase. Plot summary: This documentary is a compliation of scenes in nine separate acts from important films produced by the Mack Sennet and Hal Roach studios.

The Devil's Brother (ND) - (Laurel and Hardy) Belgian poster

This is an undated 14" x 21" Belgian poster for the 1933 Hal Roach and Charley Rogers film The Devil's Brother based on an adaptation by Jeanie Macpherson and starring Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy as Stanlio and Ollio. The boys are robbed on their life savings, then fail when they try to rob the notorious bandit Fra Diavolo [Dennis King], who first resolves to kill them, then takes them on as his personal servants. In that capacity they carry him in a sedan chair disguised as the Marquis de San Marco and he attempts to rob Lord Rocburg [James Finlayson], but things don't go well.

Flying Deuces (R1970s) - (Laurel & Hardy) Yugoslavian poster

Shown here is an 18.5" x 27" Yugoslavian promotional poster released in the 1970s to promote the 1939 Laurel and Hardy classic The Flying Deuces directed by A. Edward Sutherland based on story and screenplay by Ralph Spence and Charley Rogers. Plot summary: When Ollie is disappointed and heartbroken by an impossible love affliction, both he and Stan join the French Foreign Legion. They are then charged with desertion and sentenced to be executed by firing squad, but they escape in a stolen aircraft. The two are not good pilots and end up crashing it.
