Plot summary: In 1912 Yaqui Joe [Burt Reynolds] robs a bank in Sonora Mexico to buy weapons for his people, who are being oppressed by the government. He eventually forms an alliance with Yaqui agent Sarita and Lyedecker, [Jim Brown] the lawman who was sent to catch him, to fight for the indians.

Plot summary: In 1912 in Sonora Mexico Yaqui Joe Herrera [Burt Reynolds] robs a bank so he can buy 100 rifles to help the Yaqui Indian people defend themselves against government oppression. American lawman Lyedecker [Jim Brown] catches him, but then they are both apprehended by General Verdugo [Fernando Lamas] and a group of Mexican soldiers. Lydecker and Herrera soon become allies after Sarita and a band of Yaquis free them from the Mexicans.
