Plot summary: As a young man Marco Polo goes on a long odyssey to China as the Pope's emissary to help Kublai Khan [Anthony Quinn] fight Mongol rebels led by Prince Nayam [Robert Hossein], the Khan's own son. Marco introduces new technology to the Khan in the form of gunpowder.
