This is a 27.5" x 39.5" Egyptian poster for the 1999 John McTiernan film The 13th Warrior based on a novel by Michael Crichton, screenplay by William Wisher and Warren Lewis and starring Antonio Banderas as Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan. Plot summary: In the year 922 Ahmad Ibn Fahdlan, an Iraqi courtier representing the city of Baghdad, crosses the Caspian Sea and then follows the Volga on a mission to meet the king of Saqaliba. Before reaching his destination he is diverted by a Viking chieftain who takes him back to Scandinavia to fight flesh-eating monsters who are threatening the Viking homeland.
