This is a 27" x 38.5" Iranian poster for the 1986 Yadollah Samadi film The Bus written by Mahmoud Dowlatabadi and Dariush Farhang and starring Hadi Eslami as Ne'mat. Plot summary: The people in a village have been divided into upper and lower groups (Heydari and Ne'mati). The leader of the Ne'matis sells his salt mine to the village head man, who exacerbates the rancor between the two groups, and buys a used bus for use transporting passengers. The arrival of the bus in the village undercuts the passenger transport business for the Heydaris and intensifies the conflicts. Meanwhile the village head man encourages the leader of the Heydaries to sell him his mill and then buy the bus. The tensions keep escalating. Intermediaries and advice from the village teacher and its elder are of no value. The lack of passengers and the poor business cause Ne'mat Khan to fall behind on his payments and when the sellers of the used bus come to the village to repossess it Ne'mat Khan goes after the village head man with a club and demands the return of his salt mine. Heydar Khan and the people of the village also stand before the village head man in support of Ne'mat. The village head man returns the salt mine and the mill. The old hostility becomes friendship when Ne'mat's daughter marries Heydar's son.
