This is a 27" x 39" Egyptian poster designed by Morteda to promote the 1987 110-minute Nadia Hamza color film Women and the Law starring Sherihan based on story, screenplay and dialogue by Samira Mohsen and with cinematography by Sherif Ehsan. Plot summary: Nadia [Sherihan] was a medical student in love with a young attorney named Ahmed [Farouk al-Fichawy]. Her mother [Magda El-Khatib] worked as a nurse at a hospital and sacrificed her health and her youth so her only daughter could graduate and realize her dream of becoming a physician. Mahmoud [Sami El-Adl] was a businessman who owned the building where the mother and daughter lived and wanted to marry the daughter, but when he tried to court her he was surprised to find she was already engaged to the young attorney. Mahmoud therefore asked the mother to marry him instead, while harboring a desire to get the daughter by any means. The mother agreed to marry Mahmoud and he lived with her and her daughter in the same apartment. Mahmoud was addicted to heroin, had lost control of himself and was totally under the influence of the drug. One night when Mahmoud was in the hospital for treatment he left his room, found Nadia and raped her. Nadia's mother tried to intervene and save her but she did not arrive in time, so she took Mahmoud's pistol and killed him to save her honor and that of her daughter.

This is a 27" x 39" Egyptian poster designed by Gasour for the 1981 Simon Saleh film A Person Lives Once AKA al-insan yaeesh mara wahida written by Wahid Hamid and starring Adel Imam as Hani. Plot summary: Dr. Amal [Youssra] moved her practice to Salloum after the death of her fiance. There she met Hani and formed a strong relationship with him. Hani became friends with Bakri, [Aly El Cherif] a school guard from upper Egypt who was being chased by Haridi, [Naeem Esa] who had a grudge against him. Hani and Amal decided to marry and go to Cairo with Bakri. Haridi arrived in Salloum and when he heard about Bakri's trip he jumped on the train with a small firearm as it was leaving the platform.

This is a 53" x 78" Egyptian four-piece billboard poster designed by Morteda Anise for the 1994 Nader Galal film The Terrorist [al-erhabi] written by Lenine El-Ramli and starring Adel Imam as Ali Abd al-Zaher. Plot summary: When Ali Abd al-Zaher is hit by a car after assassinating an army officer under a directive from his spiritual leader Brother Seif [Ahmed Rateb], he receives medical care from Dr. Fouad Masoud, [Mohamed El Dafrawy] the father of the driver, who lives in a wealthy part of Cairo. While under the doctor's care Ali tries to conceal his contempt for the Western lifestyles he sees around him among the upper class Egyptians. The film was seen as an attack on Islam by many in Egypt; Adel Imam remained an outspoken supporter of Hosni Mubarak until the end of his regime in 2011.

Pictured is a 27" x 39" Egyptian poster designed by Hassan Mazhar Gasour and Anise to promote the 1989 105-minute Mohamed Abdel Aziz color film Bad Guy [al-fata al-sherrir] starring Nour El-Sherif based on the 1983 Brian De Palma film Scarface with screenplay and dialogue by Basyouni Othman and cinematography by Kamal Korayem. Plot summary: This film is not as realistic as Scarface, the sets and production values are cheaper, Cairo bears very little resemblance to Miami and Nour El-Sherif, great as he is, is no Al Pacino. However it roughly follows the original story line, consisting of a series of loosely connected bitter disputes and violent clashes culminating in a mass armed assault on a sumptuous mansion. In this narrative Salah [Nour El-Sherif] is given a seven-year prison sentence for manslaughter. In prison he meets Said [Ali al-Hagar] and a strong friendship grows between them. When Salah gets out of prison he cannot find a job so he takes up dealing in currency for a trader. He gains the trader's confidence and becomes wealthy while working for him. Salah discovers that his girlfriend Elham [Noura], for whom he has been searching since his release from prison, has married Zohdi [Mohamed El Dafrawy], an important crime boss. He fights with Zohdi over Elham. Said tries to convince Salah to give up the life of crime and stops working with him. Zohdi's gang fails in its attempt to kill Salah and its members are all arrested. Salah marries Elham after her divorce from the arrested Zohdi. She also tries unsuccessfully to convince Salah to give up his life of crime. Members of Zohdi's gang raid the home of Salah and Said; Salah defeats them, Said is injured and Salah continues his criminal activity.

This is a picture of a 27" x 39" Egyptian poster designed by al-Khad to promote the 1991 133-minute Samir Seif color film Shams al-Zanati starring Adel Imam based on the 1960 John Sturges film The Magnificent Seven with story, screenplay and dialogue by Magdy Hidaya and cinematography by Samir Farag. Plot summary: Shams al-Zanati [Adel Imam] was an Egyptian rebel who fought British forces in Egypt during the Second World War. The film depicts Shams al-Zanati's love for and eventual marriage to a young Bedouin widow named Hanna [Sausan Badr], which begins while Hanna is working in a Cairo coffee shop and helping Shams al-Zanati evade British agents. The marriage takes place in Hanna's oasis village after a bloody shootout there between Shams al-Zanati's insurgent gang and another gang led by Marshall Borei.
