Steamboat Willie (1928) - (Disney Animation) US reprint one-sheet
This is a 26.25" x 37.5" reprint poster for the 1928 Ub Iwerks and Walt Disney cartoon short Steamboat Willie. This was considered a landmark film as the first cartoon using synchronized sound and the release date (18 November 1928) is now considered the birthday of Mickey and Minnie Mouse. Plot summary: As Steamboat Willie, Mickey is shown happily whistling and piloting a steamboat, but Captain Pete decides to banish Mickey to the main deck as a deck hand and a potato peeler. Mickey makes the best of his situation by devising with Minnie's help a variety of unlikely ways of playing "Turkey in the Straw."
