J'Accuse (1938) - (Victor Francen) Argentine one-sheet poster
This is a 29" x 43" Argentine one-sheet poster designed by an unknown artist for the 1938 Abel Gance film J'Accuse AKA I Accuse AKA Yo Acuso written by Abel Gance and starring Victor Francen as Jean Diaz. This is a remake of Gance's 1919 silent film of the same title. Plot summary: Jean Diaz is a soldier who has survived the horrors of the battle of Verdun during World War I, then finds a way to summon the millions of dead from that war so they can march in protest against a new conflict. Moviefanfare has a review by Gary Cahall of the history and making of both the 1919 and 1938 versions of the film.
