This is an original 11.5" x 15.5" still photo on heavy stock paper of Zahrat El-Ola appearing in the 1951 musical My Father Deceived Me written and directed by Mahmoud Zulfikar and starring Sabah as Kawsar Amin. Plot summary: Mahdouh [Mahmoud Zulfikar] is a painter of symbolic art people are unable to understand. His fiancee Kawsar stands by him and encourages him despite her father's objection to her fiancee because he wants her to marry a wealthy man. Mamdouh has to leave her and go to work with a nightclub owner [Stephan Rosti]. One night he discovers the nightclub owner is about to marry Kawsar.

Deprivation (1954) - (Fayrouz) Egyptian one-sheet

This is an Egyptian promotional poster designed by Ahmed Fouad for the 1954 110-minute black-and-white Atef Salem musical Deprivation [al-herman] starring Fayrouz as Mona with screenplay by Atef Salem, story and dialogue by Nairuz Abdel Malek and cinematography by Mahmoud Nasr. Plot summary: A married couple lived separately. Wafa' [Zouzou Mady] worked her private home job and paid Engineer Fadel [Imad Hamdi] the father to take care of his small daughter Mona. Since he could not find anyone to look after Mona during his absence, he took her with him to work. While tampering with machinery at Fadel's plant, Mona accidentally caused her father to be caught in the moving parts of a large machine, which broke his arm. Mona ran away feeling tormented and guilty. She met Baheyya, [Negma Ibrahim] a malicious woman who took her in and treated her cruelly. Meanwhile Fadel was looking everywhere for his daughter. He went to Alexandria with his wife, who felt Mona had violated the rights of her family. Mona ran away from Baheyya, disguised herself as a boy named Bondoq and went to Alexandria as a stowaway on a train. There she took refuge with a kindly fisherman named Aouf [Adly Kasseb] and his mother [Souraya Fakhry]. Her mother and father found her later and she told them what had happened.

Shown here is a 39" x 54" Egyptian poster designed by Hassan Mazhar Gasour to promote the 1953 Salah Abouseif 98-minute black-and-white film Raya and Sekina starring Anwar Wagdi based on a screenplay by Naguib Mahfouz and Salah Abouseif after an account by journalist Lotfi Osman of actual events in 1920, with dialogue by El Sayed Bedeir and cinematography by Wahid Farid. Plot summary: This film is a dramatization of the investigation and arrest of Raya and Sekina, two serial killers in Alexandria Egypt who were the leaders of a gang responsible for the abduction and murder of 26 women. Anwar Wagdi has the role of the investigating officer Ahmed, who operates as an undercover agent, works his way into the midst of the criminal gang and eventually brings them to justice.

Rabha (1945) - (Kouka) Egyptian one-sheet

This is is a 27" x 39" stone lithograph poster designed by an unknown artist to promote the 1945 102-minute Niazi Mostafa black-and-white film Rabha starring Kouka based on a story by Mahmoud Taymoor with screenplay by Niazi Mostafa, dialogue by Bayram El Tounsi and cinematography by Mohamed Abdel Azim. Plot summary: Rabha, a pretty girl from a Bedouin tribe, came to the aid of a boy from the city who was injured when he fell off his galloping horse on a hunting trip, and the two of them fell in love. Her tribe had made arrangements for her to marry her cousin, but on the night she was supposed to do that she eloped with the city boy. Rabha could not enjoy her married life because she was afraid of her tribe and knew they would not forgive her for eloping. However when the tribe learned the city boy was also of Bedouin extraction they forgot about what had happened and celebrated the marriage.

This is a 13.5" x 19.5" Egyptian poster made by an unknown designer to promote the 123-minute 1955 Hamada Abdel Wahab black-and-white film Ismail Yasseen Meets Raya and Sekina [ismail yasseen yuqabel raya wa sekina] starring Ismail Yasseen based on story, screenplay and dialogue by Abu Seoud El-Ibiary with cinematography by Robert Tamba. Plot summary: Ismail Yasseen was with his fiance when she crashed an automobile into a house occupied by the gang of Ria and Sekina. This gang had been kidnapping girls, killing them, stealing their jewelry and burying their bodies under their house. Ismail Yasseen was afraid they would do this to him, so he decided to flee the place with his fiance. After running away Ismail Yasseen decided to tell the police where the gang was located, but they did not believe him and put him in jail. There he met a thief who did believe him and later helped him get into the home of Ria and Sekina. After attempts and chases Ismail Yasseen tried to attract the attention of the police to what had happened at the home of Ria and Sekina, so they could find and arrest the gang. Ismail Yasseen, his fiance and the repentant thief left the home of Ria and Sekina after they had been rescued from being murder victims.
