Plot summary: The unknown artist Wahid (Anwar Wagdi) married his colleague the unknown artist Drop of Dew (Shadia) and they set out to create work for themselves that was worthy of their talents. Time passed and this was not achieved. Wahid decided to play a trick to make himself into a famous person; he claimed he had killed his wife. His trick succeeded and he acquired great fame. A lady's body was found; the police thought it was his wife's body and that he was really the murderer. Wahid said his wife had not been killed and that she was alive somewhere. His wife had been in an automobile accident which caused memory loss. Wahid was sentenced to death. The lawyer tried to restore the wife's memory quickly to save Wahid from the gallows; he succeeded in doing this at the last moment and Wahid was accordingly released. His fame began there; then there was a quick change in his theater contracts and the trick enabled him to achieve the kind of renown he had never imagined.

Plot summary: Engineer Ahmad loved Amal and lived with her in the same house with her friend Fatima, daughter of the farm overseer. Fatima loved the doctor Mamdouh, but he was unaware of it. Amal's father, who was a great doctor, discovered that she had a serious heart disease. He kept this information from her. However Amal happened to hear a conversation between her father and Dr. Mamdouh about her own critical condition, and she learned the truth. Amal began taking steps to make it possible for Ahmad to leave her and not have a relationship with her, despite the love between them. Amal's father was hoping to operate on her to save her life, and when he did so it improved her condition. Ahmad understood the situation and Amal's secret she had been trying to keep from him. Amal was ready to marry Ahmad and Fatima agreed to marry Dr. Mamdouh.

This is a 27" x 39" Egyptian poster designed by an unknown artist to promote the 1966 97-minute Niazi Mostafa color film Knight of Bani Hamdan [fares bani hamdan] starring Farid Shawqi and Soad Hosny based on a story by Ali Al-Garim with screenplay by Abdel Hay Adib and dialogue by Mohammad Abouseif. Cinematography was by Wahid Farid. Plot summary: Abu Fares al-Hamdani (Farid Shawqi) was a famous Arab poet among the lords of the Al-Hamdania. He was also famous for his chivalry and bravery in the court of Prince Seif ad-Dawla. The people everywhere loved him. He fell in love with Naglaa al-Khaledia (Soad Hosny), an attractive performer in the prince's palace. This made the commander of the army jealous, and he competed with Fares for the love of Naglaa. The prince decided to appoint Abu Fares as successor to the governor of the city of Manih, while Farawia, the Hamdani army commander, began to hate him. Fares was taken prisoner and tortured by the Hamdani Empress Tifano. He learned Farawiya had made a plot on Rome's behalf to destroy the al-Hamdania government. In a wild escape Seif al-Dawlah avoided being murdered. He led the Arabs in the expulsion of Rome; then he met his love Naglaa and raised banners of victory.

Plot Summary: Kamal was willing to set aside his principles for the sake of his greed and his ambition to get into high positions. His wife Amal was left to languish in boredom because her husband was too busy for her. She had no problem letting her innocent friendship with Mahmoud develop into a love affair, but she didn't rush into it because she wanted to hang on to her social position as a wife, so she asked Mahmoud to keep his distance. Mahmoud's fortunes improved and he acquired a lot of money and property, so he quit his studies and research, but Amal no longer knew him as the person he used to be, and their relationship changed. She was not close to her husband either but she carried on with her life and stuck to her principles.

Plot summary: Mona was a poor girl who had a job as a low-level bank employee and supported her family. Under pressure from her father's illness and urging from her mother to increase her income, she formed a relationship with an elderly wealthy lover. An engineer friend named Adel [Mahmoud Yassine] who also worked at the company owned by her lover Abdo [Salah Nazmi] told her he loved her. By this time Mona was no longer a poor girl. She responded emotionally as a prosperous woman who was in a position to be her new lover's patron and guide. Mona persuaded Adel to quit his job with Abdo and start an independent company with support from his mentor Hosny [Imad Hamdi]. Although Love and Position is the film's official English title, the Arabic title literally means The Slender Thread; the tag line at the top of the poster, quoting the original story by Ihsan Abdel Qudus, translates as "There is a slender thread between love and the instinct to acquire."

This is a 27" x 39" undated rerelease Egyptian poster designed by Walid Wahib for the 1955 Henry Barakat musical Days and Nights based on a story by Henry Barakat and Youssef Gohar, screenplay by Henry Barakat, cinematography by Wahid Farid, music by Mohamed Abdel Wahab and starring 26-year-old Abdel Halim Hafez (1929-1977) as Yehia. Plot summary: A wealthy man married a woman who had divorced an irresponsible alcoholic painter [Mahmoud El-Meliguy]. The wealthy man educated her two sons, one of whom was from another husband, and the boys grew up together like twins. Yehia, the son of the painter, loved Samia [Imane] but his brother made trouble for him and Samia turned away from him. They quarreled at a party when he was quite drunk and then he got in his car and killed a pedestrian. At his trial he confessed the truth. This caused tension in the family but when he returned to his father the painter, the father took responsibility for the first time; he had a reconciliation with his wife and his son when he saw the love between mother and son and the son's confession of the truth. The film includes the hit song Toba [Never Again]: Lyrics and translation

This is a an Egyptian program folder with eight unbound collage sheets from the 1953 Niazi Mostafa film Hamido based on a story by Farid Shawqi with screenplay by El Sayed Bedeir and Niazi Mostafa, dialogue by El Sayed Bedeir, cinematography by Wahid Farid and starring Farid Shawqi as Hamido. This was quite a popular film in Egypt but original posters and other memorabilia for it are quite rare. Plot summary: Hamido was a fisherman near Alexandria who was trying to get ahead by dealing in narcotics, which was the shortest route to wealth. He joined a narcotics gang and courted a girl named Sa'dia [Hoda Soltan] who was working for his mother. She trusted him and fell in love with him, but then he seduced her and started avoiding her. He regretted his promise to marry her because he had taken up with Fawzia [Taheya Cariocca] the girlfriend of the leader of his gang [Mahmoud El-Meliguy] and taken over leadership of the gang. When his mother realized Sa'dia was pregnant she threw her out of the house, but then Sa'dia told the mother the truth about her son's narcotics dealing. Hamido overheard this angry denunciation; he took Sa'dia out on a boat ride in the sea so he could drown her with her shame and be done with her. However she was later rescued by a fishing boat that happened to pass. A police agent disguised himself, infiltrated Hamido's narcotics gang and arrested them, but Hamido himself fled and was killed before he could be arrested.

Anwar Wagdi has the role of the investigating officer Ahmed, who operates as an undercover agent, works his way into the midst of the criminal gang and eventually brings them to justice.

Plot summary: A group of university students went to Alexandria for summer vacation.Two of the students, a couple named Adel [Abdel Halim Hafez] and Amal [Mervat Amin], had a disagreement; then Adel fell in love with a much older worldly-wise nightclub dancer in town named Ferdoos [Nadia Lutfi]. Ferdoos invites Adel to live with her, gives him money and says she loves him, but he soon learns she has other men. Amal notices Adel's disappearance but does not know what has happened until one of Adel's friends finds him and tells her. Adel and Ferdoos fly to Lebanon together for a few dancing and singing scenes in various touristic settings. After Adel and Ferdoos return from Lebanon, Ferdoos is obliged to go back to hustling men to meet her expenses, for which Adel is not prepared. When he tries to go back to the gang at the beach, they all reject him and he is unable to restart his relationship with Amal. Adel's father [Imad Hamdi], having no word from his son, goes to Alexandria looking for him. There he meets one of the bar women and becomes involved with her, as Adel had done. One of Adel's friends from the beach gang finds him and tells him what his father is doing, and that his friends at the beach are willing to make amends. When he finds his father he tells him of his experiences and that he has learned from them. With sympathetic intervention from Ferdoos, father and son are reconciled and Adel reestablishes his relationship with Amal.
