Shame (R1969) - (dir: Ingmar Bergman) Italian locandina
This is a 13" x 27.5" Italian locandina poster for a 1969 rerelease of the 1968 film Shame written and directed by Ingmar Bergman and starring Liv Ullmann as Eva Rosenberg. Plot summary: A short time into an imaginary future in Sweden, Eva and Jan Rosenberg [Max von Sydow] move to a farm on a rural island to get away from a civil war after working as classical musicians in an orchestra. They are apolitical people who have no contact with society through radio or telephone. On a visit to a town to buy wine and household goods they get the news troops are coming to the area. When they return the two are interrogated by both sides of the armed conflict. Afterwards they are visited regularly by a Colonel Jacobi [Gunnar Bjornstrand], who bribes Eva for sexual favors. These events, disruptive to their relationship, tend to bring out Eva's heroic humanitarian qualities and Jan's cowardly indifference.
Cast and crew: Ingmar Bergman, Liv Ullman, Max von Sydow, Sigge Furst, Gunnar Bjornstrand, Birgitta Valberg, Hans Alfredson, Ingvar Kjellson, Frank Sundstrom, Ulf Johansson, Vilgot Sjoman
