This is a 27.5" x 13" Iranian poster designed by an unknown artist to promote the 1966 Mohamad Ali Fardin 115-minute black-and-white film Hatam Ta'i starring Fardin based on a screenplay by Fardin with cinematography by Mehdi Amir Qasemkhani. The film was produced by the Misaghyeh Studio. Plot summary: Gavaran Khan decided to seek the hand of Hatam's daughter Puneh in marriage on behalf of Abbas. With the cooperation of her cousin Sharareh, Puneh asked her father to give her ten days to introduce the youth she wanted for herself. One day the automobile carrying Sharareh and Puneh broke down on the road and the two of them asked the blacksmith Jalal and his apprentice Ahmad for help. Dressed in men's clothing, Puneh and Sharareh went to Jalal's favorite cafe to get to know him better. Puneh revealed her interest in Jalal and Jalal went to meet Hatam in work clothes using the name Farrokh Nozar to ask for Puneh's hand. Hatam drove him away and Jalal angrily left Puneh. Puneh ran away from home and went to the home of Jalal's mother. Hatam pleaded and gave Jalal a check for three million tumans, asking him to stay away from his daughter. Jalal tore the check up in front of Hatam. Under the influence of Jalal's behavior Hatam told his daughter what had happened and then sent her after Jalal.

The poster shown here is a 26.5" x 16.5" Iranian poster by an unknown designer made to promote the 1968 Esmaeil Riyahi 110-minute black-and-white film Gypsy Fury [khashm-e kuli] starring Fardin based on a screenplay by Esmaeil Riyahi with cinematography by Iraj Sadeghpour. The film was produced by Sina Films. Plot summary: The actions of the wife of a jealous father estranged his son. The gypsies took the son and years later when he grew up he unknowingly fell in love with his cousin; however he encountered opposition from his father. The father finally realized the truth, the wife of the jealous father was punished and the girl and the boy married.

Shown here is a 27.5" x 13" Iranian poster designed by Ojaqian to promote the 1963 Ebrahim Bagheri 98-minute black-and-white film The Gentleman [shir mard] starring Soheila based on a screenplay by Ebrahim Bagheri with cinematography by Naser Rafat. The film was produced by the Film and Cinema Organization. Plot summary: The two ruffians Abbas and Ebram had an old honest friendship. Asghar, who saw the two of them as a barrier to his demands for tribute, would plot against them once in awhile but he always failed. Abbas and Ebram both fell in love with a new cabaret singer who had recently appeared at their favorite public place. Asghar tried to take advantage of this situation to disrupt the friendship between Abbas and Ebram but even though he got a result at first and there was trouble between the two friends, finally the two ruffians came to their senses and Asghar was the one who ended up suffering the most.

The film was produced by the Naqshe Jahan Studio. Plot summary: A woman in despair and without shelter leaves her child by the side of a road. An indigent but kindly man finds the child. The woman returns in remorse to take the child but does not find him. From then on she puts all of her effort into caring for children. Years later the mother finds her child and the boy requires her to marry his father as a condition for accepting her.

This is a 27.5" x 13" Iranian poster designed by Ahang to promote the 1969 127-minute Mohamad Ali Fardin black-and-white film King of Hearts [سلطان قلبها soltan-e qalb'ha] starring Fardin based on a screenplay written by Fardin with cinematography by Ghodratallah Ehsani. Fardin was Iran's most popular actor and the title of this famous musical became his nickname. The film was produced by the Maysaghieh Studio. Plot summary: After being in an accident in which each thought the other had been killed, a young married couple named Setareh [Azar Shiva] and Saeed [Fardin] lived separately for years. Saeed became a famous singer and the woman lost her eyesight in an accident. Years later Saeed happened to meet a little girl named Khorshid [Leila Forouhar] without knowing she was his daughter; with financial help from his wealthy fiancee, Saeed paid the expenses of an English doctor to come to Iran and treat the girl's mother, without knowing she was his missing wife. On the wedding night his wife and child appeared to thank him. In this way the old couple found each other again after a long time and began a new life together. Not told is the story of the heartbreak and disappointment of the wealthy woman who had been counting on a marriage to Saeed and who paid for the recovery of the blind woman he actually married.

This is a 27.5" x 19.75" Iranian poster designed by Davvalu to promote the 1961 Nosratolah Vahdat 100-minute film Roast Duck [morghabi-ye sorkh kardeh] starring Shahla Riahi based on a screenplay by Nosratolah Vahdat with cinematography by Saber Rahbar. The film was produced by the Caravan Film Studio. Plot Summary: Changiz was looking for wealthy people that he could trap. One of his targets was a man named Nosrat, whose wealth Changiz was planning to grab with the help of a woman named Ghazal, who was gradually preparing him for the hit. At the last moment Ghazal became unwilling to cooperate because she had fallen for Nosrat. Changiz brought in another woman named Sharareh, but he failed this time too and Nosrat returned to his peaceful life.

This is a 17.5" x 28.5" Iranian promotional poster designed by Ojaqian for the 1959 69-minute Khosrow Parvisi black-and-white film Those without Stars [bisetarehha] starring Jaleh with cinematography by Fereydoun Reypoor based on a screenplay by Khosrow Parvisi. This film was a product of Tehran's Film City Studio. Plot summary: Three aimless youth were doing whatever they could to get on with life when they met a capricious woman who toyed with all three of them. After this episode they understood the facts of life and from then on they confronted the affairs of their lives with determination and resolve.

A newspaper journalist and his photographer got involved in one of their crimes and brought about their arrest with persistence and courage.
