Monte Walsh (1970) - (Lee Marvin) US one-sheet poster
This is a 27" x 41" US one-sheet poster for the 1970 William A. Fraker film Monte Walsh based on the 1963 novel by Jack Schaefer (author of Shane) with screenplay by Lukas Heller and David Zelag Goodman and starring Lee Marvin as Monte Walsh. Plot summary: Monte Walsh is an aging cowboy in the late 19th Century witnessing the final disappearance of the life of the old west he once knew and loved. The kind of work he used to do on the open range is becoming increasingly scarce, and he is reluctant to do anything that can't be done while riding a horse. He and his friends understand they must try to reinvent themselves and make a new start, but find the challenge daunting. As Monte's woman Martine Bernard [Jeanne Moreau] puts it, "As time goes by, we all have to take the best we can get."
