Plot summary: In 52 BC when Caesar [Gottfried John] is celebrating his victory over Gaul, he is also trying to get control of the village where Asterix and Obelix [Gerard Depardieu] live, for tax collection. The village resists with help from its resident druid Getafix [John Baddeley].
