Faithful Forever (1962) - (Imad Hamdi) Egyptian one-sheet

Pictured is a 27" x 39" promotional poster designed by Mohammad Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Fouad for the 1962 100-minute Ahmed Diaeddin black-and-white film Faithful Forever AKA wafa lil-abad starring Imad Hamdi as Hamdy Hamed and Madiha Yousri as Wafa Kheir with story and dialogue by Mahmoud Sobhi and cinematography by Victor Antoun. Plot summary: Nabil Kheir [Ahmad Khamees] was a young engineer living happily in Alexandria with his daughter Mona [Alawiya Mostafa] and his wife Wafa. He was a partner in the same office with his friend Safwat Fahmy [Omar El-Hariri]. One day Nabil saw a young man trying to kill himself by jumping off a bridge and was able to save him, but he drowned in so doing and left a bereaved family. The man Hamdy Hamed Nabil had saved was stricken with remorse and wanted to atone for his guilt at any price. He tried to get close to the widow by renting a room in her house without telling her he had been the cause of her husband's death. She rented him a room because she needed the money. Hamdy began to have deep feelings for Wafa and became close to the daughter. Hamdy acquired some money, paid it to the widow and told her it came from a philanthropist. The widow accused him of stealing the money from her husband. He tried to confess to her the truth but Wafa left the country. When she returned she found Hamdy waiting for her asking her to forgive his mistake. She forgave him and they married.

The Homeless (1980) - (Naglaa Fathy) Egyptian one-sheet

This is a 27" x 39" Egyptian poster designed by Moaty for the 1980 Ashraf Fahmy film The Homeless based on a story by Naguib Mahfouz, screenplay by Ahmed Saleh and starring Naglaa Fathy as Laila. Laila was a successful attorney married to a wealthy contractor named Fathy [Mahmoud Yassine]. They were entirely different culturally. He was ignorant whereas she was a hard worker in a high social position. She was constrained in her life with him and withdrew from him after failing to improve his social worth. Fathy took up with a woman with a bad reputation named Sausan [Nabila Ebeid]. Laila learned about his relationship with her and asked him for a divorce, which she got. Laila defended a woman in a case similar to the one in her own life. The person she was defending killed her husband after discovering he had been unfaithful to her, even though he had lifted her out of poverty and married her, and this is what had happened to Laila. During a visit to Sausan Fathy suddenly had a severe heart attack. Sausan contacted Laila to tell her about his illness. Laila felt regret about the way she had treated him and asked him to forgive her, but he died in Sausan's home as a result of the heart attack.

Torments of Love (1980) - (Madiha Kamel) Egyptian one-sheet

This is a 27" x 39" Egyptian poster designed by Hassan Mazhar Gasour and Morteda Anise for the 1980 Ali Abdel-Khalek film Torments of Love based on story, screenplay and dialogue by Mostafa Moharram and starring Madiha Kamel as Madiha. Plot summary: Ismail [Salah Nazmi] discovered a relationship between his wife and his friend Salem. He notified the police so they could prove the relationship between them. The police arrived and arrested Salem, but the wife killed herself with an overdose of pills. The years passed and Ismail's son Ahmed [Imad Abdel Halim] met Salem's daughter Madiha [Madiha Kamel] at a university where they were both students. Ahmed told his father about his relationship with Madiha and how he sincerely loved her and wanted his father's approval to marry her. Ahmed's father discovered that Madiha was his friend Salem's daughter so he opposed the marriage. Ahmed had to run away with Madiha to marry her. He was obliged to work in a nightclub, but his father Ismail still tried to end the relationship. He notified Madiha's fiance Rifaat [Ahmad Khamees] (Madiha's father had agreed to their engagement). He gave Rifaat the address of the nightclub where Ahmed was working; Rifaat tried to kill Ahmed just after the wedding, but Madiha stepped into the line of fire and was killed herself.
