Karakon in the Street (1986) - (Adel Imam) Lebanese one-sheet
This is a 27" x 40" Lebanese poster derived from an Egyptian poster designed by al-Khad for the 1986 Ahmed Yehia film Karakon in the \ Street عراشلا يف نوكارك [karakon fil-share'] based on story and screenplay by Ahmad Al-Khatib and starring Adel Imam as Engineer Sherif al-Masri. This movie is an Egyptian story about building and occupying a tiny house in Cairo. Plot summary: Engineer Sherif, his wife Soad [Youssra] the teacher, their daughter Sara, their son Hani and his mother [Naima El Saghira] were living in a shelter after the destruction of their home. Because of the inhumane conditions in the shelter they took refuge in a barn, but were surprised to find Abou Douma [Ali El Cherif] living there. The public prosecutor ordered them to partition the barn. Sherif made a mobile dwelling out of wood and started living in it despite the many problems. Inspired by Sherif a number of people began building their own mobile homes. Some of them moved into the desert with them.
